Nikola Tesla's Extra coil, was used in his Colorado Springs experiments, and in his Wardenclyffe Tower. But what purpose dit it serve? I series connected an extra coil to my secondary, and measured voltage an current, which opened my eyes wide.

If you read Teslas papers carefully he is using an extra coil away, outside of the magnetic fields. Anotherwords it's a coil tuned into resonance that is simply connected by a single wire not magnetic coupled. I ran experiments like this and it creates a significantly stronger field in the air because it is not interacting magnetically with any thing around it which would dampen the field. It literally makes transmission or power go much farther than without it because it is a free ringing coil unimpeded

I'm glad someone pointed this out, this is a critical function in the operation of the extra coil, this was also part of how Tesla reached over 100 million volts: "With such a coil I found that there was practically no limit to the tension available, and it is by its means that I discovered the most important of all facts arrived at in the course of my investigation in these fields." I also asked Wardenclyffe Research about this and he said the same thing, with a little extra: "The secondary is within the magnetic field of the primary, therefore energy gets transferred from the primary to the secondary, which is what you want. But what happens next is that the energy gets transferred back to the primary. In other words the energy oscillates between back and forth between the two coils. Tesla wanted to avoid this back and forth, and for that reason (among others) he came up with this extra coil. BTW. it is not 100% outside of the magnetic field of the secondary. There is a (very) small coupling in most of his set-ups. For that reason the extra coil should be wound in the opposite direction." Keeping the extra outside the EM field also isolates it from being weighed down by the primary, Tesla found the best configuration was making the coupling between the primary and secondary coils as tight as possible, this gets you the best of both worlds of tight coupling and free oscillations in the extra coil. I'm surprised Ivo hasn't noticed this, keeping it tightly coupled will weigh down the coil horribly. I wonder what changes we would see if we made the power coming into the primary coil purely Dielectric via a hairpin configuration with the magnetic contaminants removed? Like FIG 5 in Tesla's Rare Notes.

Your experiments and your persistence are impressive, Ivo. I am not an expert in electronics but I dare suggesting an explanation for the phase shift you measured. Coils and capacitors can shift the phase between voltage and current. That's part of conventional theory. Obviously, phase shifting is the crucial feature of the "Tesla Extra Coil". You have proven that the theory holds. Congratulations.

Hello Ivo. Stanley Mayer actively used this scheme in his HHO generator. And there was also a small secret in the "polarization" of the magnetic flux, about which information is completely absent, but this is a logical natural process of increasing the output power. In addition, he claimed that it is possible to remove additional energy from the central tap of the L2 coil as well with an extra coil. Good luck!

All my other components are in place for converting power from the coil sets into usable kW, like for a microwave oven and clothes washing machine, real usable kW. I will let you know how it goes in the community pages, whether I get it to work, or not, yet. My 1st goal is to get my devices to power themselves, which I have never seen ANU do. Hi Ivo, got a question concerning the Colorado transformer, I've been looking to build one of these and I'm a bit confused on some things, does the wire gauge of the secondary and tertiary coils need to be the same? Tesla shows the 2 coils are connected together physically in his patent so I'm wondering if the gauge needs to be the same. And how close do the resonant frequencies of the 3 coils need to be? In DRSSTC's the resonant frequencies between the primary and secondary coils need to be as close as possible to result in much higher output, when comparing the dimensions of the 3 coils in the design using an online calculator I found their resonant frequencies are very different from each other, would modifying the design so all 3 coils share a closer resonance improve the output? Cheers.

Greetings Ivo, i have some theory stuff, what i have understood from writings made by other men, i came to conclusion that the key, the holy grail if you want, is to tap straight into ether. In other words, pure voltage, nothing but voltage. Amper is manifestation by ether in created space, and its seen as heat. Further speaking, there must be a way to get two fields (magnetic-amper/electric - voltage) to work in union as one. The possible solution how to achieve this scenario is, imo, somehow to cancel magnetic field so only the other force (electric force in form of voltage) manifests. The extra coil should do it somehow, and by the words of Eric Dollard, no l2 or l3 are even needed. Theres a reason why this secret radiant electricity is also called cold electricity, no amper no heat. God bless you Ivo and good luck in your research

Hello Master Ivo, can you use a spiral don smith style coils in this L-4 design
@Repfuesch
@Repfuesch Жыл бұрын
In the Colorado Spring Notes, Tesla clearly pointed out that the extra coil is NOT magnetically coupled with the L1 or L2 coil and is therefore not dampening the input circuit. It is only electrcally connected to L2 and the elevated capacity. In your setup L4 is magnetically coupled. In that case you just have an ordinary output coil that will magnetically act back on you input circuit (back EMF). If you make proper input / output power calculations you will notice that it is not overunity...

I know that Tesla also calculated the weighing of the coils it made, because two coils with different number of turns if they have the same weight, made of the same material, certainly resonate. 2. Nice demonstration Ivo 👍 To calculate accurate power output on your L4 8.3 ohms resistor you need to mount the resistor and temperature gun so neither can move. Run you circuit till you achieve maximum heat and write down temperature. Then disconnect L4 leads to resistor without moving its position and connect resistor to a power supply and adjust the voltage until you get the same stable temperature. Multiple voltage and current displayed on power supply and you’ll know the wattage. This method is very accurate as long as nothing is moved (resistor and heat gun) from one test to the other and obviously room temperature is not different. Once you know the wattage it would be beneficial to compare it to how many more watts you increased the input when you connected L4 load resistor to compare if there’s anything to gain. Kind regards from gotoluc

much interest in power calculations, and rightfully so! Is there any usefulness in the standard "average ac power" formulae where you get RMS voltage & RMS current straight from Vpp/Ipp (to yield resulting 'avg/apparent ac power' or Volt-Amps)? I guess its unlikely to be meaningful when I have no load on system, and i wouldn't expect it to necessarily describe system capability, so maybe only useful in a college course's lecture notes...
@MasterIvo

yes there are formulas and yes you could calculate the power inside the coil. But indeed, the trick is to get it out. in theory you should be able to get 50% out (else the oscilation dies) by matching the load impedance to the secondary (or extra coil or both) impedance

Yes, the current lags the voltage by 90 degrees in an ideal inductor (coil), thus, the power formula is not really I X E alone, you must multiply by the cosine of the angle theta, in a DC circuit theta is 1 and thus most just say I X E. Of course you know this, but for the sake of viewers that have not taken electricity classes I mention herein. Basically, this is due to the fact that an inductor resists voltage instantaneously when voltage first applied to it. But not to get bogged down with the obvious…Tesla did use series coils to increase tension, typically in final step in applying electrostatic induction. As well as other inventors such as Stanley Myers. Thus ‘VARS’ be changed to useful action without the wasteful change of ‘VARS’ to ‘WATTS’ which is always a loss full experience, unless maybe you want to heat your room, and even then loss full.

In the 1996 Carson and dollard presentation they highlighted a mystery of the transformer in the secondary. Conventional thinking only looks at flux lines being sucked up in the core at the primary. But clearly more than that is going on there. Additionally there is an instantaneous longitudinal in the ether at both primary and secondary. If its not the flux in the secondary transmitting power it must be the longitudinal thats producing this power instantaneously on the other end. Furthermore the form of that longitudinal is a particular format or geometry arising from how its being created. I am thinking if the secondary core isnt doing anything directly to make power whats its real purpose? Maybe the secondary simply acts as a receiver transmitter component that can interact with the ether wave by virtue of its role it takes in forming the geometry. like a lock and key the transformer has a specific density pattern replicated in the primary and secondary. (The transformer might be seen as a multidimensional converter : a lower density structure in our material octave of a pattern able to manipulate the ether, at much higher octaves. ) The coils as analogs of eachother resonate the longitudinal. but the participation of coil current, coil pattern, and longitudinal as a complex pattern is replicated exactly at the output side except when altered by different winding numbers. What do you think?
@MasterIvo
@MasterIvo 2 жыл бұрын
Very interesting. I like the octaves. Maybe, the longitudinal is dependent on the cavity between the primary and secondary. I find it a challenge to get these abstract themes into practical usage.
@prometheus1111111
@prometheus1111111 2 жыл бұрын
the ether exists at a higher octave, the transformer at our lower material octave. But when the transformer interacts w a current, a longitudinal is set up. it instantly appears, an instantaneous bridge between primary and secondary. I think of the transformer like a switch or valve from how it can pattern the sound in the ether, like a cymatic pattern at a higher octave. And this pattern is a specific structure that can behave as a portal for power. We see it that way disappearing and reappearing, but the transformer actually has two valves. The first valve patterns a sound in the ether and makes it disappear to our observation, the secondary valve interacts with that pattern to reappear because it is similar to the first geometrical form that rang it into being. If this is close to what is happening it may offer a new insight as to how to apply geometry to unlock power.

I am reproducing a faraday experiment of a homopolar generator. with higher amps and very little volts. This require a Addition law to Ohm law. The Law's are incomplete. That is why I state just use input and out put. as a measure. then reproduction out come . This will help to find a REFERENCE . Love you Bro.Peace and wishing you great blessing

no, the square wave shows when the mosfet (switch) is on/off during turn off, L1 coil produces the negative voltage impulse, from the conversion of it's built up magnetic field. No L4 is not a spark gap, it has more voltage due to less capacity

@MasterIvo
@MasterIvo 2 жыл бұрын
using equal copper mass in primary and secondary. and the magnetic field is also tuned by resonamt frequency, which is controlled by changing capacity (capacity provides the current to create a magnetic field in the coil). further more I can give the secondary more windings then the primary. More windings, more inductance, more magnetic field (if current is provided by the cap). but most importantly. the impulses in primary (l2) amplify the current (magnetic field) in l3(secondary)

You should measure current and voltage directly over the resistor. If voltage is about 300V over the resistor (since it is in parallel with L4, it should be same as L4 voltage) and if voltage was truly in phase with current, you would be creating a power of 300^2/8.2=11kW. Clearly, that small resistor wouldn't survive that. Something is amiss here and should be further investigated. Most likely the resistor is not absorbing more power than your input power which is about 16W per your video. This would mean about 45mA in your resistor. Measure the current in you resistor directly to see what it is. My suspicion is that its inductance is significant.
@MasterIvo
@MasterIvo 2 жыл бұрын
don't forget the L4 voltage rides on top of the L3 voltage (series connected). The resistance heating up is just an indicator of power. Power is best calculated DC, So I'll first rectify into dc then into a capacitor bank, and then I can resisive load it, and calculate DC power. But to do this safely I need to remove the dc offset on L3 first.

Hi, masterivo, i have your circuit and experiment whit him, your voltage its down because the pankeke coils can't hold resonance, you have de pulse, the frecuencia, but the body, resonant body , you lack the resonant body, you have the coil, but it lacks a resonant core, it has to continue ringing like a bell, the echo is the one that allows you to continue obtaining voltage without it disappearing

@@MasterIvo That the body of the coil resonates is fundamental, beyond the magnetic and electric shock that is being given to it to respond, the body will respond to the vibration and while that is clearer and more neutral, the better, that is why I do not see a resonant body In the pancake coils with resin, I see it as a music instrument that has a person who knows how to play it and who has rhythm, but the body of the instrument is not there, the cable would be the strings, and the resin would act as a resonant body. I prefer air coils, without ferrite. as ferrite introduces hysteresis loop. which prevents a proper impulse, as the magnetic field energy stays partly stored in the ferrite.
