😊 Hey guys! We created the Chase Car channel to give viewers a broad overview of the upcoming new cars from the top car manufacturers. We are huge fans of pickup trucks of all sizes: compact, mid-size and full-size trucks. So mostly, we will cover new upcoming trucks, but besides that, here you can find a lot of content about new sedans and SUVs too.
The Electric Vehicle wave sooner or later will become huge, so this type of content might appear on this channel from time to time. But as we are still on the way to becoming fully electrical, we mostly cover fossil cars from many amazing brands.

EV cars are an option at best but reality shows they will never be a replacement for many decades. I have thought of buying an electric vehicle but now know that it is not feasible for my use. I drive very little and I know batteries degrade, regardless if you use them or not. I would just not get the mileage out of the vehicle and therefore the savings, before it would need replacement.
@davidclemens1578
@davidclemens1578 3 ай бұрын
@@FrankGallagherrYou will still have to replace the 12-volt battery, the tires, and there are still suspension components that will need replacing just like any other car. Many electric vehicles still have drive axles off the single motor, which may need to be replaced. And like any vehicle with many electronic sensors and components, such as the BMW ICE vehicles can go bad and fail. There are very few repair centers that work on electric vehicles but yes that number is growing, but they can pretty much name their price on a repair once your car is out of warranty. Most people that drive ICE vehicles will go to a smaller shop after their warranty has expired just to save money on repair costs. This will not be an option for most ice vehicle owners. Look at your electric vehicle like you would look at a old computer or TV, once they get old the apps and programs May no longer be supported and your option will be to replace it just like an old TV. I have an old web TV that I can no longer use it as a television but a monitor because Microsoft will no longer support the system. Luckily I have a old Blu-ray that has internet that gives me that ability to get some of the functions the TV used to. It amazes me that people are willing to take the financial risk of buying something that will be only useful for maybe 15 years years that is if all the support is there or if the company is even still in business. Everyone's thinking about the battery but this is something I have not seen anyone talking about.

If your camry and accord can get 35 to 40 mpg and be filled up ready to go in 3 to 4 mins why would u buy a EV. Even a 10 year old civic is more reliable than any EV. We got 3 f150 lightnings in our fleet gets 70 to 90 miles to a full charge loose range in the cold day. Our gas powered f150 can get 580 to 630 miles range on a full tank of gas.

EVs typically do 4 miles/kWh which would be about 63k miles for a full year. Incidentally, the cost would be £1182.5 at Octopus' overnight rate of 7.5 p. compared to £12600 at 20 p/mile for petrol. The cost of running an EV is further reduced if you have solar panels. EV maintenance costs are trivial.

I have had a Tesla for 2 years now. All of this is true and there is more. Do NOT buy an EV unless: 1. You are a homeowner and are willing to buy & install the proprietary fast (50 amp) charger in your garage. Do NOT buy an EV if you live in an apartment/condo-that’s called buying a nightmare. 2. all of your daily driving can be comfortably accomplished with less than half of the vehicle’s published range. In general half the published range is what you have to work with between keeping the battery between 80% & 20% and actually using heat/air conditioning. 3. You are comfortable paying more for insurance than you might for gas ($350/month through Tesla insurance, and that’s just for the Model Y). 4. Both you and your significant other aren’t absent-minded. The car needs constant stewardship to avoid damaging the battery and running the battery too close to 0% can damage it. You have to remember to plug it in every night. Missing even one night is a headache you don’t want. You can’t take it to the airport and leave it in the parking garage because a freeze will turn it into a brick. In general, your life becomes constantly being paranoid about the health of the battery and you never get to just park the car in the driveway and not think about it. 5. You are willing to spend $2,000 on tires every 2-3 years. No, we don’t drive crazy. 6. You are okay with service being VERY expensive for even minor things because your options are limited. Yeah, there’s some fun things and I don’t regret buying our Model Y, but at the same time I won’t get another EV. There are pros, but the cons outweigh the pros. Gonna get a non-hybrid Toyota next. The only battery I want in my next car is one I can buy at AutoZone and swap out myself. Update: another tire popped on the Tesla within 2 weeks of posting this, so that makes a consistent $1,000 per year in tires, a second time having a tow truck come to my house, and another loss of use of the car for 2 days. That was the last straw. We just went to a Toyota dealer and traded the Tesla in today, straight out of the shop. Good riddance.

Several of these are just not true depending on what model you buy or where you live. Service for my 2015 Kia Soul EV has been very cheap, and I haven’t had to replace the tyres yet. Our experience with 2020 Ioniq 5 seems similar so far. Owning an EV with an apartment is not a problem at all in much of Norway now. In 8 years the infrastructure has gone from zero to absolutely abundant. No reason to think it’ll be any different in other countries in another 8 year. The technology is cheaper and better now. There are still growing pains in the whole field of EVs, but it’s gotten much, much better in just the last 3 years. Of course, do some research before jumping into it. Like any other big purchasing decisions.

@@BuilderofRat Have you checked your lungs,bloodstream, and brain for nano-carbon particles? Everyone is susceptible to these since there is no dilution of these particles to zero in the atmosphere, in particular, produced by diesel engines. Escape from a burning EV is more likely than from an ICE with a tank of volatile petrol. Google "Rainbow Bridge car explosion" It was in the news about 2 months ago. I assume that you believe that it's the battery that is causing the burning of EVs. You likely have the same batteries in cameras, ipods, ipads, laptops, etc carried in your own car or at home. Same risk? A friend's farm tractor, ICE of course, caught fire and burnt the whole garage. Not sure what other vehicles were involved. My dad was always warning ud that if we were caught stalled somewhere on the road, to wind the windows down a few inches. Unfortunately, the son, 18 year old, of a cousin was asphyxiated from a lack of doing just that. Not all smokers have or get lung cancer, but the statistics prove the connection. Some day, driving an ICE vehicle will be shunned the same way, sociologically, as a person today is if they smoke in an elevator. No one is forcing anyone to drive EVs. I just wonder why the ICE crowd are on these sites trying to convince the EV bunch that driving EV is for the birds. You would thing that they did care about what we own and drive. By the way, I own 8 ICE cars which are driven very sparingly. I suspect that they will enhance a museum's collection someday. The swich to EVs is coming whether we object or not. They are cleaner and cheaper, if not today, will be shortly in the long run. The Chinese EV market will overtake any and all of the so called Big Three' businesses because of pricing. Much of the legacies' products are not manufactured in the USA, even. Tesla has most percentage component structure of any USA manufacturer for their cars. How long do you think that crude is going to last? It might be a little less selfish to save a bit for future genarations to manufacture other objects than those for simple transportation, particularly when there are alternatives. I'd bet that you drive a pickup for basic transportation. What could be more fuel ineficient than one of those? It's almost as if pickup owners have to get to more than their share of crude before someone else does. Have you ever driven an EV? Been driving ICE cars for well over 65 years and before that ICE tractors from a young age. The EVs have a lot more to offer than ICEs. Your friends will inform you.

Indeed , electric cars have less range , cost more in the first place, and last half as long , because you can guarantee, when that EV runs out of warranty down the track , and the battery range has degraded , no one in their right mind will want to spend anything from $20,000to $60,000 bucks on a replacement battery on an 8 + year old shitbox EV. In comparison a good well maintained ICE car with minimal maintenance cost could last 15 to 30 + years. And this brings up the question, what's greener and better value , an ice Car that could last potentially 30 years or more if looked after , or an expensive EV that will likely be sent to the wreckers in a much much shorter period of time , and which is better value ? because no one will want to buy an older EV with a degraded battery.

In spite of EV problems, I believe there's room for these vehicles in the market and Musk himself has said that gas vehicles should not become obsolete. There's nothing wrong with being able to opt for gas, electric, hybrid, diesel, etc. We all make our choices based on our own purposes and desires. Actually, EVs are not in any way simpler than a conventional vehicle , for a start the battery packs are composed of thousands of single cells with every cell and it's connection being a potential fail point , add to that , it still has gears(not in a conventional sense)and lubricants , it has multiple cooling systems and battery thermal systems , multiple charging systems , and then everything is run by computers and sensors , Make no mistake there is nothing simple about electric cars ! And they still have brakes, suspension, steering , electric motors, wipers ,Masses of electric solenoids to open and close stuff , and these things are heavier than a conventional vehicle, so you can expect your tyres to wear faster. And we haven't even got to the bit about how the battery has to be pandered to so it degrades at a slower rate , or all the other charging cons or the mediocre range from the very beginning. And I could go on , you couldn't pay me to own one of these things.

A very important reason people are shying away from EV's in my opinion is that they start to realise that they've been told only half of the story of EV's. And that half is the positive side of EV's. Um , 3,000-4,500 degrees Fahrenheit lithium battery fires is a good concrete melting reason to switch back to internal combustion vehicles. Then there's the fact that the batteries are fragile, one 35 mph crash and the batteries are potentially compromised. Lithium battery packs can't be plugged in overnight or risk waking up to an angry, raging fire . Power outtage severely reduces your ability to charge up . The more electric vehicles there are , the more inefficient charging becomes because the electrical grid for one , can't handle the increased load and electricity will have to be made from diesel generators . Too many cons , not enough pros .

I must be the exception to the rule. I have had EV’s since the very first Nissan leaf. I’ve had Teslas and I am currently driving a BMW i3. Never had an issue with any one of them other than user error. Never broke down. Never needed to get Recovery. Always had enough charge to get to my destination. never worried about range anxiety. As I always buy secondhand cars never had to worry about depreciation. Oddly the Nissan Leaf, that we sold made us more money than we bought it for. I would never ever buy a diesel or petrol car ever again.

Kinda similar to having your engine or tranny blow, it sucks, it's expensive, but it doesn't happen very often. Further battery prices are now dramatically lower than they once were and the cost will continue to go lower as packs are now produced in the millions. By the time my battery might need replacing in 10 years or so the replacement cost could easily be less under %25 from what it was when my pack was new in 2022.

@@MarkMaxwell-author WRONG! Battery packs develop faults. There are sensors and there are about 15,000 electrical connections in each pack any one of which can require replacement with a rebuilt pack Cobbled together from MULTIPLE Already FAILED packs. What could possibly go wrong? The Tesla Uber driver had a pack fail at 40,000 miles, then again 6 weeks later for the same fault, THEN AGAIN just under his 100,000 mile warranty. He gets to buy the next pack and it's equal to the value or possibly more than the value of his car now. That's for another pack Cobbled together from MULTIPLE failed packs, what could go wrong? You can find this guy on YT. BEV makers are COUNTING on you to keep the mileage low so they can get out of warranty. Another big problem with electric vehicles is that the Federal Government and some state governments such as the government of the state of California are not only strongly promoting electric vehicles, but they are making laws that will force electric vehicles on many of us who do not want electric vehicles. So the question comes up that with all the problems that electric vehicles have and the documented environmental impacts of electric vehicles, will the government change its stand and laws on electric vehicles? My best guess is that the government will change nothing, because they are way over concerned about carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere and are convinced that they must force electric vehicles to save the planet from climate change. This whole matter of climate change and global warming has been blown way out of proportion. Also because I was born in 1951 I have seen over my lifetime tremendous improvement in gasoline powered cars over the years. Compared to what was available in the 1960s and what is available now. Gasoline powered cars emit far less pollutants. Also cars get far better gas mileage. Also gasoline powered cars are much safer. Also today's gasoline does not contain the toxic chemical called tetraethyl lead.

These things are a huge hassle, all those lost hours sitting in those charging stations, huge anxiety, plus a outrageous expense in the long run. Good luck trying to sell a used Electric car with wore out battery modules. You'll find out nobody wants to pay the ridiculous price of batteries ... Batteries are very ... very expensive to replace ( thousands and thousands of dollars) ... and make no mistake, you will be replacing them. These batteries are highly toxic to our environment and a constant concern for fire, also a high potential for disaster to our surroundings. These new specialized automotive grade batteries ... are not green clean energy by any means... Don't fool yourself and certain don't listen to a manufacturer or salesperson, ... they will say anything, do anything to make a sale . I wish I knew all this before I bought my car . I kept my ICE car in excellent condition while owning it, but the KBB value didn't reflect that, so I kept it rather than almost giving it away. I ended up purchasing another EV as well. EV's have been my daily drivers, and I'll drive the ICE vehicle only a few times a year. I have to keep the ICE car 12 volt battery connected to a trickle charger so it won't be dead when I want to drive it. I'm fortunate to have both an EV and ICE vehicle, which I can compare the two by way of ownership, instead of going by what others say online who don't own both.

E-Bikes, E-Scooters, Electric Unicycles (EUCs), E-Skateboards and Skates, One Wheels are the EVs of the future and their sales and growth have been skyrocketing the past 10 years. And anyone investing in the above EVs now will be very prosperous/wealthy in the future. This is the next big industry Car and truck are the wrong EV's to pay attention to...and invest in. People are tired of cars and trucks in general. (It's all a smoke screen.) So they are trying to convince people that EVs are not the way, since they have no way of producing EVs for the same price as Tesla and some of the Chinese car makers. It is well known that Toyota have been lobbying the governments of the major car markets to slow the introduction of EVs. Also, Toyota is indebted to an extent that none but the larger country economies of the world could afford, namely about $190 billion, of their debt. It has been stated that it will cost Toyota another $200 billion to make the switch to EVs. I feel sorry for their workers and the Japanese nation as a whole. A recent study found that electric cars release more toxic emissions than gas powered vehicles and are worse for the environment. Electric vehicles also present safety concerns. Reduced range in cold weather when heat and window defrosting are required will discourage their use, decreasing visibility and putting lives at risk, especially on longer trips. If EV gets stuck, stranded in a snowstorm, or slides off road, heat will not be maintainable. If stuck in a traffic jam in summer heat, air conditioning will not be usable and will be used less often in general, to maintain range. Opening windows increases vehicle drag and reduces efficiency. Drivers are also less alert when uncomfortable and arrive at destinations annoyed, possibly requiring a shower, if available. This is not good for the professional traveler attending a business negotiation or meeting. EV fires are very difficult to extinguish. An EV traffic jam fire in a confined area could be horrific. The study found that brakes and tires release 1,850 times more particulate matter than the exhaust of modern gas powered vehicles. EVs weigh about 30 percent more than gas cars, causing brakes and tires to wear more quickly, releasing increased particulates into the atmosphere. Particle pollution can increase health problems including heart disease, asthma and lung disease. More total energy is also required to perform the equivalent work with an EV. Extracting one ton of lithium requires about 500,000 liters of water and produces large quantities of mineral waste. Mining the cobalt used in EV batteries emits toxic chemicals and gases that leak into the environment, and extracting metals from the ore emits sulfur oxide and pollutes the air. Vulnerable people are exploited to secure these resources. The unreliable charging network is definitely one of the biggest gripes for a lot EV owners out there if you don't use a Tesla (or have a home charger installed). If I dig around for non-Tesla EV chargers on PlugShare in my city, the most common problems I find reported are: - Charger has no power or is faulty. - Charger doesn't activate/start charging or doesn't let you pay. - Charger is blocked by ICE vehicles. - Charger is derated (has much less charging power than advertised). - Charging cables or connectors are cut off (seriously?). - Can't use the charger because it is not open to the public (i.e. it's only for staff/employee use at whatever establishment the charger is located at). Apparently Tesla seems to be the only EV maker to have a pretty reliable charging network (maybe at most 1 or 2 charging stalls don't work per location at some point, but that's not really a huge problem) although at the moment there's only 2 Tesla Supercharger locations in the entire city (one with 12 charging stalls, another with 8).

I’m happy with my EV. Saved me a ton of money and it paid for itself in the first two years. Charging at home is the equivalent of paying $1.50 a gallon in a state where it is over $5 a gallon.
@bigmacdaddy1234
@bigmacdaddy1234 3 ай бұрын
No, it didn't pay for itself in two years. Your forgot to factor in the higher purchase price of your EV, the higher insurance cost, the massive depreciation, the time you wasted waiting for it to charge (hourly rate x time), the cost of replacing new tires and brakes more frequently and the inconvenience of having to deal with range anxiety all the time. You didn't save a dime.

@@bigmacdaddy1234 even with all that factored in, it did pay for itself in two years because with 73k miles, I got reimbursed $0.66 per mile delivering cannabis product.

Last year I purchased a Chevy Spark 2020 with auto windows and locks and Apple 🍎 car Play along with upgraded sound system. It gets 37 to 40 MPG I drive it like I did my EV and it the Gas model. I have added mobile Eye and a few other Goodies. The Car is amazing. I paid $14,000. Out the Door. Love the New Hydrogen tires. It has independent rear suspension. I feel Blessed

Don't forget for home chargers you need to get a new power box as well to use the fasr charger that cost money as well as the new higher electric bill it comes with.

Charge my model y once per week using my dryer outlet takes about 5 hours in my garage. Over 100,000 miles now no problems. Took a 4,000 mile trip no problem either. Ignorant people who don’t own a Tesla. Drive what u want. I love my Tesla. 😊 ps I’ve lost about 3 % range for over 100,000 miles. Typically a Tesla will lose about 5% range in 200to300000 miles. You think your gas engine doesn’t lose efficiency over time? 😅 my range is 300 miles currently.

ººWhy don't E.V companies just use those magical NAZA's batteries, like the ones that they've been using on Mars for over 20 years now ? It's never above minus 80ºf and with no maintenance at all, those batteries somehow never die. I find that most curious. (The Devil is in the details)

The Perseverance has 2 Lithium Ion batteries. They are recharged by a Radio Isotope Thermo Electric generator. It puts out little bits of power over a long time. They get really hot though. A place like Mars is great because you get free cooling for it. Not magic.

I guess you still believe in Santa Claus aswael. ººThere's no way that a large source of heat that is far away can render an object frozen at the top and bottom but hot in the center. For that to occur the source of heat would have be close and small. Meanwhile we can see moonlight on local clouds but not on distant clouds. The Sun and Moon are local and small. ºIf you are in a car going around a curve then you're going to uncontrollably slide across the seat, it is irresistible. And yet they tell us that we are spinning at a 1,038 mph while going around the Sun at 66,600 mph while our system goes around the galaxy at 480,000 mph while the galaxy goes around the “Great Attractor” at 2.2 million mph. That's four different curves that we are supposed to be going around at the same and yet, no seatbelts. ºThey say that that the Earth's rotation is due to the surplus energy of the formation of the Solar system. So what makes a gaseous atmosphere rotate ? How can air be fastened to the ground ? And if the atmosphere was rotating with the Earth's rotation, then when we walk against the Earth's rotation, we would feel the resistance of the atmosphere. They say that we don't feel motion, only acceleration. How would you feel any acceleration when there is no motion ? If we were in motion then any change would be noticed but if the Earth is at rest then there couldn't be a change in velocity. (We do not live on a treadmill). ºFlat Earth realization is only the beginning. God or not, man is the center of Creation and a universe being created is not only redundant it is deliberately misleading. There is only Creation. ºIf you can see waves crashing on the beach with a zoom lens 20/50 miles out to sea, then you already know that the Earth is flat. You just haven't connected the dots yet. If you go out 250 miles and look around 360% then you just surveyed 1% of the Earth's surface. It's flat. ºIf you know that we've been navigating by Fixed Star Location for over six thousand years, then you already know that the Earth is stationary. You just need to put the pieces together. ºIf you want to see flat-earth proofs then take an airplane five miles high and look out the cockpit window. Not only will you see no curvature but the horizon will always come up to your eye level. That can't happen on a ball and it would be stupid to believe otherwise. @@icedriver2207
