The remnants of Hurricane Beryl are about to die off completely, but is still producing flooding rains across northern New England, Ontario and Quebec. The presumed center of the remnant low is currently over Lake Ontario, but a lot of the heavy rainfall has been pushed ahead of the storm. Warnings remain in effect from New York to New Brunswick.
A new disturbance has formed off the coast of Florida, and has been given a 10% chance of developing by the National Hurricane Center. And another area of interest is likely to appear in the Eastern Pacific later this week.
Elsewhere, areas of interest are starting to gain traction in the South China Sea and Philippine Sea in the Western Pacific, with models keen on several storms developing in the basin in the next two weeks. During the next few days, heavy rain from these disturbances and possible tropical storms will produce up to 750mm of accumulations in southern Mindanao, as well as 300mm in central Vietnam.
