The worry for Europe is that the conflict doesn't go into other borders. This will be a drawn out affair. Slowly Russia will hold referendums for regions to them and they will likely build military bases in those areas, the local people are either willingly joining Russia or the Ukrainians are leaving going west. A split land grab for Russia will be considered a win. It doesn't look like Ukraine will fall totally at any stage and zelensky will hold power. This will setup a 3rd confrontation in the years to come.
