Watched this video footage about 7 months ago and it's still awesome footage. I would've liked to see where this material is being tipped by the truck driver, looks like asphalt or coal either way I like seeing this type of material tipped either at a crusher facility or gyrator. Also taken and screened at a crusher facility. Keep up the good work

Looks like overburden to me so a dump or road most likely but this is a coal mine and the coal usually goes to a hopper crusher then off to a wash plant

Such a large bucket, and yet it's not loaded completely.

A front shovel loading a haul truck in 9 passes isn't a very efficient pairing. That and the Hitachi operator didn't have full buckets the majority of the time. Not very cost effective. None-the-less, a very fun video to watch.

Ya, a 3600 should be teamed up with a 785, but the digging fleet is pretty mix and match. That shovel started life at another mine close by and was originally teamed up with 785s and 789s.

@Scott Lee … I understand your comment and I’m not being a smartass but what’s the difference if he loads one truck in nine passes or two trucks in 10 passes? If he doesn’t stop moving he’s still loading material.

@@joesmith4050 Hey Joe. It all comes down to cost and making money in the mines. Mining companies drop 2 or 3 million or more on these excavators and massive amounts of money on the haul truck fleets. Ask any rep from CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi or any of the others and they will first off recommend the best pairing of excavator to haul truck to maximize efficiency and keep all of the trucks moving. If the excavator takes 9 passes to load a truck, chances are there are other trucks sitting idle for a longer period of time than is normal as they wait to be loaded, and that down time is money lost for the mine. The more dirt they move, the more ore/coal (or whatever) can be removed and sold.
