I've never had an issue with the Excalibur, stayed there numerous times, rooms have always been clean and it's in a great location plus it has a decent casino. Vegas needs more theming back imo, as a tourist I want the tacky castles, pyramids etc 🙂

We've stayed at both of these properties. Excalbur food court def has the advantage over Luxor. We like Pick up Stix. We like the Tower Elite room at Luxor. It's large and has a fridge !!! Only thing we like about Excaibur room is the shower is large. I LOVE Backstage deli Great sandwiches !!!! Thanks for sharing

Great review as always, Melissa. I hardly frequent this side of the strip when I visit, but they both hold fond memories from back in the day trips with my grandparents. My grandfather loved both the Luxor and Excalibur to sightsee. You give your viewers a great perspective of how one property is best suited over the other based on the age ranges. As the King of Excalibur I appreciate the honest review of my castle. Never stayed at Luxor but I might check out the tower rooms one day.

I liked Luxor better because you have equal access to not only the Excalibur but more importantly, the Mandalay Bay shoppes and hotel. Also liked the Luxor Tower rooms better.

I will be staying at the Excalibur in two weeks, will my first time staying there. Better late than never 🤞

Totally agree with you about the Buffets. I can enjoy even a bad buffet for breakfast for a cheap option, especially if you get a 2 for 1 through MyVegas. It's hard to mess up breakfast food especially if they have made to order omelettes. The Luxor still manages to do that somehow though.

We usually stay at Excalibur if we're passing through. It is easy to get to and we've never had any issues. For us, it is just a place to sleep for the night.

I love both. Two of my favorite properties.

The difference between the Pyramid and Tower rooms at the Luxor is huge. I didn't really notice it until my last 2 stays there where I had a Tower room in May and a regular Pyramid room in July. The TV is better; the curtains block the light out better; and most of all the tub and awesome shower. I'm sticking with at least the Pyramid from now on. (That walkway wasn't working last time I was there. Like an escalator outside-same thing. And this big kid wanted to play some Ms. Pacman and Space Invaders at Excalibur, but days in Vegas for me need to be 36 hours long. And the Luxor gym is 24 hours now which is right up my alley) Thanks, you two

I definitely choose Luxor, I have stayed there and it is very nice and clean, also cheap. Never stayed at Excalibur but I heard a lot of not so good things about it 😮

Backstage Deli at Luxor is a hidden gem!

My travels to Las Vegas, Luxor is my home away from home as I prefer the south strip. Less traffic and easy in and out of Las Vegas.

I'm looking forward to checking out The Center Bar at Excalibur on my next trip. It was still under construction in the Fall. I must prefer Excalibur...better vibe.

Luxor over the Dirty castle any day… just don't go to the Luxor buffet. Never stayed in the pyramid but I have had really good experiences in the tower rooms.

My pick would be the Excalibur 🏰 - I couldn’t deal with the hotel rooms at Luxor

Though I've never stayed at Luxor (crazy, I've been going since I was a kid), I would likely still choose Excalibur. I usually win there and I like their buffet. Maybe one day I'll try staying at Luxor 🤔. But it's hard not going with comp'd rooms from Caesars 🤭.

While I do like the theming of both … I definitely would never book a room at Excalibur . Rather sleep in my car . I did stay at Luxor in 2021 for one night before moving to Bellagio for a week . The room was mediocre at best and that crazy elevator in the pyramid that moves at a slant put me over the edge lol . For me I like the outsides of these better than the inside . They have their place but I prefer the upscale resorts Aria , Bellagio or Wynn 😎😎😎

I liked the Excalibur as well, especially the entertainment 😊

The atmosphere in the Excalibur is far superior to that in the Luxor. All right the rooms may be a bit more modern but they are both clean and its just somewhere to rest your head & if you have any issues they are quickly dealt with in the Excalibur but not so in the Luxor as our lights went out & 3 times i had to report it & it took almost a day to get it sorted. I have stayed in both & once was enough for me in the Luxor but have stayed in Excalibur a few times and will be going back next trip. The food options are plentiful & you also have different options at New York New York next door.

For me this is an easy choice. Luxor is a hotel I stayed in the first time I went so it has something special for me. And Tender Steakhouse was really good, not just for the price.

I will be starting there in August. I like to stay in the tower better

excalibur if u have kids.other wise go for luxor..both r dumps tho lolz... better to stay at NYNY for a bit more..heck my top budget choice and center strip would be planet hollywood without a doubt..if ur cheap and frugal and don't want to walk much(or the most less walking cuz ur staying near miracle miles shops with all the cheap eats)...Planet hollywood is the best choice

Piano bars and live music is a lost art in Las Vegas. I wish they would bring those days back so that people can enjoy what we once did.

I've been visiting The Dirty Castle since it opened in 1990. Befriended 2 bartenders around '93 - one is still there, just moved from the Lobby Bar to the new Center Bar. Best bartender in town IMHO. I don't care much for the rooms there, but the vibe is still good on the casino floor. The Dirty Pyramid is a great value if you get into one of the nicer tower rooms, but the casino lacks any sort of vibe and feels cramped. MGM seems to understand these are lower-end properties, but for some reason overprices food & beverage severely, getting crushed by places like South Point nowadays. They need to fully understand who their target customer is -and it's not the people who pay $18 for a cocktail at Aria.

stayed at the Luxor several times, the remodeled rooms are amazing. the older rooms are really weary. tower room was amazing but i didnt like the intense smell of perfume in the room, perhaps other rooms dont have it. the tower room bathroom was amazing also. as about Excalibur i would never stay, ive heard lots of bad things about the rooms. the food court is good, the buffet very basic. Luxor buffet was a bit better, but both budget anyway

The Luxor is a much better property, one of the best experiences I've had in Vegas is staying at the top of the pyramid in a suite. I love the Luxor !

Luxor is the better option especially for adults.

I’ve stayed at Luxor twice last year. I booked Excalibur then canceled and went to Luxor after reading google reviews haha. They’re both as average as it gets.

Luxor all day. It’s amazing to me that Excalibur has timeshares. I can’t imagine being locked in to paying actual money for those rooms when they are so often comped or so cheap. The Excalibur casino area is marginally better than Luxor’s. I don’t know why the casino at Luxor feels so cramped when the rest of the property is actually quite spacious.

Great comparison video. A split screen flush power comparison would,have been nice, but some people don’t care about that I guess.

NEVER stay at a resort where the rooms have “Thru the Wall” air conditioners! It’s embarrassing that Excalibur uses these in their rooms. Time to tear down Excalibur and build a new casino
