The "Browser View Options" For Excel 2010: File >>> Save & Send >>> Save to Web (Then you have to sign with Windows Live ID). This is even before the "File >>> Export" which Bill mentioned in the video.

Your dashboard would look even better if you would have used the alt-key while arranging (changing size, moving) the slicers, graphics, etc. This would force excel to fit these items right within the cell-frames... :-)

My query is: If the stock level falls below the minimum level we can do a conditional formatting in excel and show the present stock as red color or set ut to blink. And in the same way what would be the VBA code to show the same minimum stock level in listbox .

Imagine each user has got a device which generates data. Those data come as a csv file. So many csv files as users... We have then an issue, since the csv files are all local and the web app, on the contrary, is global. Is there a possibility for the web app to fetch data from each user's computer via Internet on demand? Is this topic the limit of the system? Thanks so much for your help.

Can this be done in a local share drive? My company has lot of restrictions for data sharing. We do not have access to internet, we use Intranet system. I want to do the same thing as shown here, I wish if can be done in a local shared drive. If possible then please message me.

Hello, Thanks for the video. Its very helpful to present my Excel Dashboard in a cool way :-) I have a issue though, Named Range doesn't appear in the selection items for me only Pivot tables and charts appear. If I select other region in the excel sheet without the chart, that particular named range appears in selection but not the named range which has charts. Could you please tell me the reason for this ?

Bill - I follow your work persistently - thank you... Problem: The web pg gives Pivot Tbl field list w/options to add/subtract pivot fields - even with the view only link. I know if I refresh it goes back to original but this option will only confuse my users. HOW DO I GET RID OF IT ??? ALSO → I can't make my slicers show up (though may not need it bec the filter option on far left column of browser seems to work well in conjunction with browser view option of pivot table items (and chart item) only). So why did you prefer the slicers in this video? Isaac

I just tried re-creating a sample. (1) Make sure you hide the pivot table field list before you save. (2) There is now an option to prevent download. (3) The Slicers must be completely located in the area encompassed by the defined range name that is used in Browser View Options. For me, the slicer shows up. The field list does not. @@MrXL Bill.. thanks for that. I didn't choose a dashboard named range. Now slicers show up. However, even when I do, if I select a cell on the table, the far right pane for field list appears on mine (and on yours, as I just checked). • Also, if in browser view options you choose only the pivot item, a handy thumbnails column appears on far right pane as well. In addition, the filters on far-left work well. • Also, my intra-file hyperlinks don't work so the thumbnail column becomes essential. • However, if I could get my hyperlinks to work and can get rid of field list completely, that would be best Isaac

this is simply awesome! but O have one question. lets say that o use Power query to get the data to my dashboard. when I get New data and update the dashboard I'll have to create a New link or there's a way to update the file and keep the link? thanks!

The link is to the saved file so as long as you update and save rather than saving as a new file it should do. I use Power Pivot and Query in reports in SharePoint Online which can then be shared in exactly the same way as above. Another thing you can do in SharePoint is to embed the report in a page so that users within a site collection can access a report without really realising that from your perspective it is just a Excel spreadsheet. Another cool feature is to build a hierarchy in Power Pivot which you can then use in charts so that users have the ability to drill down into your data (although in the web app it can be a bit tricky to drill back up without just re-loading your report)

Great video, Bill. Thanks. Question. I'm trying to link cells in one worksheet to another worksheet (within the same file) except that the file is already in the OneDrive and being accessed by collaborators (who are editing it in the Browser). How can I link to cells using the Web App?

Thanks, Bill. Also another question then. What's the difference between editing in the Browser vs. Editing in Excel? I'm trying to understand what it means for my team to start editing the file in Excel (local) as opposed to directly in the browser. I know that in the browser version, the edits from multiple editors/collaborators are made in real-time, but what would happen if each team member decides to "Edit in Excel" instead of "Edit in Browser" ?

The steps in this video do not. But if your I.T. department maintains an on-premise SharePoint sight, there is supposed to be something equivalent. We don't have on-premise SharePoint, so I don't know any of the details.

Old VBA macros will not run on the web. There is a new programming language for Excel Online. It is called TypeScript. Here is a small introduction: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mLSSqJhys7vJcas.html
