I find that detecting in the rain just makes everything pop. You can hit deeper and the wet ground makes everything more conductive. Loved all the finds.

You are dead right mate, it definitely makes a huge difference 👍 and if you have your machine set up correctly, you are onto a winner, just as long as you can handle being out in the rain lol 😆

These settings worked great for me wasn't finding much on Saturday morning and then put the same settings as you and found my first roman coin thank you very much

Btw what pinpointer do you use I am using the one that comes with the simplex but can't seem to get it to connect to legend so I can't get to use it though my headphones

My Nox works with stubble well. It can give false signals when the stubble is tall or tough but dropping sensitivity helps.

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that they need to have the sensitivity running as high as they can, when in fact, like you say, having it lower where the machine is stable is better. The amount of messages I get saying their machine is to chatty, is unbelievable lol 😆. Thanks for the insight into the Nox mate, seems like the same rules apply to all machines 👍

Hahaha wetter is better mate 🤣, definitely brings out the signals 😉. I've just bought a wash in coating called Nikwax mate, it comes it 2 parts and you put it through the washing machine 👍. Supposed to be really good stuff. Don't thing I'd go for the WD40 lol unless that's a new fragrance by packo reban 🤣🤣🤦‍♂️. Love to you mate, hope to see you soon ❤️

That's the kind of stubble we had on a rally Sunday. Could not get my standard coil on the Simplex closer than 4" to the surface for most of the day. Just found iron all day, horse shoes were my best find!!! Found my first George III last night. It is in fact my oldest coin so far after 8 weeks doing the hobby. I am happy though as this pushes the activity on the field back 50 years to 1800, I know your fields can be 100 AD, so no comparison really. Your coin is in much better condition than mine. Congratulations on the bucket lister mate, beautiful item.👏👏👏👏

That's a nice find mate, well done 👏. I love finding the old George coins, especially when they still have some details, which is unusual for those. My fields actually go back further, as I have had celtic coins dating back to around 60 to 30bc 👍. Keep up the great work mate 👍

Even by your high standards that was a brilliant day. Love the Jetton. Shame I didn’t have those stubble settings on Sunday, it was like walking through a hair brush.. one for the future especially at this time of year.

I am very new to all this.. Haven't got a permission yet, just researching and learning basic stuff. What is your spray that you use to clean your items? Is that just plain water?

You're absolutely doing the right thing by researching first mate, good on you 👏. I'm always happy to help in any way I can mate, so if you have any questions, I will do my best to answer 👍. I use deionised water in my spray bottle, as tap water has some nasty chemicals like chlorine etc. Deionised has all the impurities taken out so is perfect for those more delicate finds.
