Love the freestyle aspect in their approach. Leaning towards feeling rather than everything set and marked

@Marlon Quintana-Nieto have u ever watched the Oscars ?

@@scottgimple7705 he probably has watched the Oscars considering he is absolutely right. The nail in the coffin for me was the absolutely mediocre film "Green Book" winning best picture last year. Anyone who actually cares about the craft of film will agree that the oscars are basically a show that allows the Hollywood elite to pat themselves on the back and occasionally give out a wild card award to real artists to make it seem like they actually still care about artistic integrity. Hopefully you're the type of person who will actually read into it rather than just denying it because it's not your opinion, here is an article showing why the Oscars are completely meaningless. Not trying to be mean just want to show more people how corrupt and pointless the Oscars are. www.spiked-online.com/2019/02/27/how-the-oscars-became-irrelevant/

@@DeadlyPimps To quote Emmanuel Lubezki the oscars isn't deciding which film is the best it is celebrating those in the industry that have made strives this year. Such as Gravity, Birdman and the revenant in succession. Gravity was a VFX lighting masterpiece. Birdman was shot with only practicals as a one shot. Revolutionary. The revenant shot with only natural light. Bladerunner 2049, Roma etc all are amazing pieces of art. Maybe best film is corrupt or maybe you are just looking at it wrong.
@DeadlyPimps4 жыл бұрын
@@gabj9017 No I'm definitely not looking at it wrong, you just clearly are biased towards Hollywood for some reason. Oh yeah birdman was revolutionary haha, it's not like Alfred Hitchcock made rope, a movie that's all one take in the 40's. Birdman was overhyped trash for people to watch and think they're artsy or whatever. Blade runner 2049 is a good example but, a truly well shot, well acted and we'll directed film. And revenant being shot with all natural light, okay? So what? Plenty of films have shot with natural light in the past, The French Connection is a great example cause it used natural light and it's much better than Revenant. I'm not trying to sound nasty or anything but are you really not aware that one of the biggest factors to winning an Oscar is how much money the nominee has spent on the voting academy members? That's a well known fact. Here's an article on it www.vox.com/culture/2019/2/21/18229512/oscar-campaigns-for-your-consideration-events-narratives-weinstein

Why didn't they nominate the cinematography of this film in the Globes. It was definitely one of the best this year?

Love that his approach puts character and emotion at the fore. I also love the look of almost any film shot at 1.85:1! It might not be as 'cinematic' at the theatre, but at home where all the rewatches happen it looks incredible.
