In 1969 I was confined to a body cast for a year…..I rarely watched television…..mostly read , however ….one day I turned it on and its' a talk show ….I'm ready to turn it off and than the host introduces Mr. Burt Reynolds….within seconds he had the entire audience and myself in tears …..I was hysterical and couldn't stop laughing which I had not done in months …..He changed my life that day . I never missed him , there after ……supremely talented gentleman …..who went the distance…..walking the tight rope of the entertainment business…..never complained when he was down and racked with pain …….always a stand up guy ……the consummate professional…….Thank you for enriching my times , Mr. Burt

A class act. A Joe Cool kinda guy, a smooth operator, yet never a prima dona. Never afraid to parody his own image. Could do comedy as effortlessly as action. His comedy series Evening Shade was wonderful. It deserves to be recirculated.

My first Burt Reynolds movie was "Gator". It was a guys action flick but my sister took me to see it when I was 12. That's what started my lifelong love for him and his movies. I saw "Smokey and the Bandit" at the drive in up the street about 20 times with all my friends. "The End " also with Sally Fields was so underrated. I laughed so hard I cried. We all know that one day our heroes and idols will pass, but it does seem like they will live forever. Its just really hard to accept that they were only human like we are. Mr. Burt Reynolds will live forever on film and in my heart.🌹

@debbierogers36676 жыл бұрын
And his def of sexy, referring to Sally Fields, was talent. Not that he was saying she wasn't attractive, but I think Loni was too Barbie Doll-ish and her looks and body, mostly nice body, got her open doors, not her acting talent. Honestly, she looked and looks too plastic to me. I am sure we will all agree, Sally Fields is adorable, more natural looking than most actresses nowadays and a hell of an actress!! Always loved her!!

Her Oscars came AFTER he cast her in Smokey. While she was in two popular TV shows, she had never done a film. Everyone in Smokey wanted someone else to be cast, but Burt wanted her. He saw her talent and believed in it when the others didn't. He always said, "Talent is sexy". And he thought Sally was REALLY talented! He gave her the big break she needed in films. For that alone, she should've been kinder to him in her book. I once heard her say about them meeting on the Smokey set, "Spending 4 hours with Burt was like 4 years. It was instant and intense between them" Sad they couldn't find a way to make it work.
