I hate reporters who look for ghosts where there aren't any. Steiner gave an answer that essentially closes the chapter - It is Gene Hass' team, he can do with it as he sees fit. Any circumstances leading up to this becomes irrelevant. Steiners co tract was simply not extended. Why try force to get sleeze or criticism from Günther ?? This is cheap reporting from Sky Sports !!!

Also one that could not get HAAS to perform better.. That's the only thing that really counts in a very competitive environment like F1, how you perform with the team, and that was not good for Guenther unfortunately..

Haas is gonna regret this, that guy raked in more fan support for that team than anybody else could and he deserves any respect that there is for loyally sticking with that team for so long without being given the tools to work with. This incredibly classy and endearing gentleman is so genuine. Now finally those who let him go will have a chance to actually see the respect he has garnered. It's respect and admiration not "celebrity". The F1 community loves Guenther for who he is. Not only for his level-headed and positive outlook, which I'm sure wasn't easy in several situations he has been placed in, but he always remains true to himself and has trusted his own knowledge despite the pressure certain benefactors tried to twist his arm and all the pressure placed on him. Go climb your favourite mountain, Guenther and appreciate the views as you always have! ❤

@@djoetma Maybe his success as a WRC co-driver, success as a team principal in WRC, Paris/Dakar, Pikes Peak, Le Mans and of course his somewhat successful stint at Ferrari? Maybe Leinad also respected Todt for his time as FIA President or his work as special envoy in the UN? As you outlined, he never had a lot to say in the press but there again the most successful people I know tend to let their deeds do the talking. TBH I can’t think of any F1 TP who has achieved more in motorsport than JT.

@@sultanoftippoo3857 Those are all great achievements (not the FIA-president thing), but that doesn't necessarily make an argument for why someone is liked as a team principle.

@@djoetma surely all those achievements are exactly why the OP likes JT as a TP? I can’t think of anyone who has built successful teams across so many series or appears to have survived 40 years in motorsport politics and has kept his reputation in tact. Doing what he did at Peugeot in the WRC was impressive but to follow that up with his tenure at Peugeot in Le Mans and of course to be at the helm for 6 consecutive F1 championships at Ferrari to me shows exceptional leadership skills over a very long period of time across multiple series each needing very different disciplines. Just my 2 cents. Out of interest, who is your no.1 TP?
@djoetma
@djoetma 5 ай бұрын
@sultanoftippoo3857 I don't know, that's why I asked him. Also, I don't think having an impressive palmares per definition is reason to like someone. F.e. one of the more recent principles I liked was Abiteboul because he had interesting insights to share during interviews and he always was 'just' an engineer and later on a policy maker.
