When the interviewer asked Marcus how he got through the 6-7 mile crawling after falling down from the hill, he just replied "I wasn't dead". Now this is the attitude of a SEAL.

When Marcus jokes “have an ambulance ready bc I’m gonna go till I die!” - he’s joking but knowing his actual history, he really WOULD go until he died. Wow. What a beast.

Respect for Mr. Young for not capitalizing on the mission and actually asking Marcus about his life before and after, much better than any other interview that just talks about Red Wings, Incredible amounts of respect for both of these gentlemen.

Hell of an experience meeting him. I actually got him "in trouble" because there was a line of people waiting to meet him, but I had a Manning jersey on and all he wanted to do was talk about hanging out with him during physical rehab... Amazing man.

The book WAS much better than the movie, but the book always is. Marcus went into so much more detail in the book, especially in BUDS it was unbelievable. Then the actual story of what him and his brothers experienced in Afghanistan. So Much better and in depth than the movie. However the movie was Excellent too. Thank you Marcus and much respect to your fallen Brothers.

it's amazing to see how his demeanor changes when he re-tells the red wings mission. it's not like he's explaining a movie or story, he's re-living those events and feeling all those emotions and pain each time he talks about it.

From the early days after "Lone Survivor"news reports, book, and then the movie, Marcus seems so much less haunted, and has lost that "1000 yard stare" in his eyes. I don't know the man at all, but I have been concerned about him, as a fellow Vet (Absolutely no comparison in any way to my time in grade and his), Cowboy and human being. It's good to see him looking calmer, and more settled with himself and his life. Also......Gotta LOVE that dog!

I admire Marcus Luttrell's military bravery and his commitment to help disable vets. His first book made me cry, and so did Lone Survivor, which I am sure will probably sweep the a few Oscars. It was exceptionally directed and the acting was superb. I had to drink a couple of Sam Adams just to get me mentally ready for the movie because I knew it was going to blow me away. I must admit I look at vets differently now.

Beautiful. Truly a man's man that doesn't tell you what you want to hear but honestly speaks his mind. Marcus Luttrell is a true inspiration. A man who has seen Hell, literally crawled through it. Though I know it still may haunt him, as it would any man who has seen what he has... He is able to face those demons and has forged a new life from those moments in which he and his brethren answered the call of duty. His commitment and love to his fallen family is awe inspiring. He may not except it or even want to hear it...but he truly is an American hero. My love and support go to this man as he continues to fight the good fight. Persevering through it, humbly, yet proudly.

Some are borne to be Sentinels of Responsibility for the greater good of humanity. Some have to take a stand for those whom cannot or will not stand for themselves; seems often that those who will not take a stand live with a terrible disparity, an incongruence of the knowledge of our World and Universe. - "Sometimes good men have to do violent things." - Unknown. Grateful for the service of these men and women.

I appreciate that he talked about his Father being so hard on him and his brother and yet so intelligent. Still he learned to be the right kind of adult by knowing the opposite of his Father was the right way to be good man. I too has a father with a genius IQ, I have A.D.D. and I never did anything good enough, he was also a drunk, after work! I learned how not to be like him. I like Marcus's attitude that we have no excuses when your an adult, no matter what you go through it is all on you, no matter what.
