Absolutely -Its a race only for “serious” runners who know running isn’t about the experience of the race but rather running as fast as you can to whittle that minute off your pr. Hobby joggers quit whining and stay home for god’s sake! 😆🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

As an 8-time Boston marathon back-of-the-packer runner (last time 1989), I don't understand what the issue is. There was a cut-off for us? What does that even mean? And that affects the registered runners? Why not just focus on the bibbed runners?

@@TheSeriousRunner How does someone who runs a 5:45 marathon even qualify? You can just about walk the distance in 6 hours! My best time was 1989 at about 3:25 (based on my laughable Casio Runners watch) so I must have beat a lot of those who qualified. BQ for my current age group (70-79) is 4:15. If it took me 6 hours to finish I would kill myself. I still don't understand why this would be controversial. People who take 6 hours to "run" a marathon shouldn't even be in the marathon. I finished 7 of 8 of my Bostons from way back of the pack and got no credit for any of them. So what? It's just another rule.

@pasadenaphil8804 a lot of the ones taking issue with it didn't qualify, they're charity runners. Not saying anything either way, just seems to be that's who is making it into an issue

@@michaelcaricoo You can't stage these events without rules. The charity runners should take that into consideration if their real goal is to get an official time and not raise to money. Get a Garmin and allow people to track your progress.

Almost get the feeling that the BAA is trying to get kicked out of being one of the majors! Slightly tounge in cheek, but if they keep the madness up you could see it happening especially with a few 6 star hopefuls technically not getting it . . . .

@julieburton7393well I would agree for any other marathon but lets not forget that the qualification time for boston is 3hours for men and 3.30 for women. They either cheated their way in or (for most of them) got a charity run slot. If you then consider how many extremely 'serious runners' get baa'd you can kind of understand some backlash. Like please at least train and if everything goes wrong (which can happen) dont complaint that your time of 6hours and 5minuetes was not official😅 it is just the wrong marathon for that
