My friend, let me share my thoughts about why United are currently struggling. If you observe closely, United's performances drop drastically whenever Shaw and Lisandro Martinez are not in the team. These two players are very good at progressing the ball forward. When Shaw plays from left back, he progresses the ball well and overlaps to force Rashford to move centrally therefore making it easy for him and other attackers to be a more dangerous threat. This creates chances for United to score while always putting the opposition on the backfoot. Lisandro Martinez always gets the ball and progresses it into the midfield before making line breaking direct passes to attackers close to the opposition 18 yard box. This gives United's attackers lesser distance to run before they get to firing range... this will definitely lead to loads of chances created and goals scored. This is why United did well last season when Shaw and Lisandro Martinez were in the team. Notice how United started struggling when these two players were absent due to injury. This means that defensive players like Maguire, Lindelof and Casemiro cannot do what Shaw and Lisandro Martinez does very well for the team. This also means these players need to be replaced going forward because United CANNOT keep relying on Shaw and Lisandro Martinez due to injury issues. In my opinion, Casemiro is past his prime. Lindelof, Tominay and Maguire are just too slow and affects the transition of the team from defense to attack. United needs to get their recruitment right in the summer. A couple of players in that present squad needs to be replaced with better, fast, mobile, ball progressing players. The likes of Garnacho, Mainoo and Hujloind are the future of Manchester United. I agree with Ralph Ragnick too. Manchester United needs an open heart surgery...as in drastic changes behind the scenes and among the squad! Nice video analysis my friend.😊

It’s true the club needs drastic restructuring but I hope it does not involve ten hag being replaced at the end of the season. He needs a third season before we see results. The way I see it if the club sacks ten Hag, then it’s back to square one with a new manager because any new coach needs at least 3 seasons. Ok Pep at City only needed 2 but the guy’s a monster, and very important, he is well supported by the money and a very well run City management. Klopp needed 4 seasons also abetted by great back room staff. Ferguson needed 6 before we won a league title, cups not counted. Ten Hag deserves that chance. God help us if INEOS gets Potter or Southgate. I tell you what if we let ten hag go to say Bayern Munich, he will be instantly successful.

In this team, only Dalot, Mainoo, Hojlund and Garnacho seem comfortable doing this. Rashford simply overthinks things, and that's his problem

Drilled and trained passes needed more, runs and movements, quick moves, passes, there are too few, but good to see it is starting g become a part of their play. I agree with you...our football doesn't deserve top 4. Top 4 would be just hiding the issues and allow people to pretend like everything is okay. I am watching Liverpool vs Man City. Two teams that have evolved over 10 years. Man City (Aguero to Halaand,David Silva to Bernado Silva, Otamendi to Ruben Diaz, Guadugan to Rodri) then we have Liverpool(then Mane, Fabinho,Ferminho, Robinho,Henderson, now Diaz,McCalister, Vandiz). At United we can't go beyond Fernandez, Rashford, Martial while other clubs have completely overhaul their team. The best youngster from our academy like Greenwood, Savage,Zidane Iqbak,Pelestri are not given a chance to prove themselves. It took a miracle took months for Garnacho to be considered a starter. Bruno is undropable. Here we are celebrating 3 points against Everton. A game where we should be resting our regular players. Such is our case. We are not ready to make drastic decisions of letting big players go.

@scarlet report - just some feedback if I may. Your videos are usually excellent with unique tactical insights that rarely see elsewhere. Reviews like this that focus only on the goals (which anyone can see in the highlights) are a waste of your talents IMHO. A video that focuses on key players (positive or negative), what the opposition did well, tactical setups etc would be far more valuable!

Absolutely agree re reality needing attention, but the idea of a big clean out or open heart surgery has to bear this in mind - FFP not only means that moving a lot of the players on is going to be extremely hard (as last summer window showed - and bear in mind that both Donny and Sancho may well be coming back, given how their respective loans are going)- but so will be buying replacements. It is a wicked choice of bad or worse options. For people wanting the coach out, they need to remember that the payout on his contract will count for FFP (which makes new players in harder) and a new coach will likely add to the incoherent squad issues. McNulty identified the squad problems when Ole first came in. That is about 5-6 years ago. It took Fergie until 1990 to win his first trophy and 1993 to develop a side that would dominate - he took over a dysfunctional club with a terrible culture amongst the players in 1986. The game was much simpler then. It could be a long grind, so get ready to suck it up. Worth noting that ETH has a better win ratio after 100 games than any MU coach including Fergie. He got a trophy in season 1. I don't know what he is capable of, but he has shown enough that the arguments against punting him are better than the ones for. Does anyone really think that De Zerbi, or Potter etc. will have a different experience? Really? If you don't like the style (who does, including the coach?), have a look at the team sheet for the Carabao Cup final and then have a look at the team sheet for this game.
