This is ok for basics but the most important feature of a proper concealed carry class is to understand your states laws regarding when one can use deadly force and when one cannot, as well as how to avoid a confrontation and the principles of "last resort". Many states, like mine have laws that are considered "stand your ground" and "castle doctrines" but should not be misconstrued as the need to ignore common sense and avoid using deadly force if possible. Utilizing deadly force and being wrong can and often will cost you your freedom for a very long time. I encourage everyone to take their state's promulgated LTC or CCW class in order to learn the laws and be as responsible as possible..
@ExecutiveTrainingGroup
@ExecutiveTrainingGroup 9 ай бұрын
What you are talking about is CCW law class. It is far too often people take that class and think they are good to carry a gun. Couldn't be further from the truth. If you do not train it doesn't matter if you know the law or not. You are a liability to yourself and others. That being said it is very important to understand when you are justified. So taking a law class is highly advisable as you said or simply understanding the laws of your area. Also understanding as you said is a last resort. Most who are out training like this already have done that research. It is those who are not trained that usually take the law class but due to lack of hard skills will make mistakes or poor choices in the moment.

Not that ETG didn't explain it good, cause he did. If you check out Mike Glover Actual he goes over grip in a video, the whole video is about grip. I've watch and listened to both and they are both spot on between each other. He just had close up views and goes a lil more into depth of how, why, etc. Keep in pumping out excellent content bro. Thank you for all you're doing for the community.

One thing to think about with appendix carry and sitting in the car is placing the seat belt behind your holster. One it helps get it out of the way, and two it will help prevent internal damage from your holster if you slam on your breaks or get into an accident.

Excellent defensive pistol training, especially with a RDO. I used to worry about my draw and how fast I could get my pistol out. Which actually slowed me down on my presentation and trigger press. I adopted an 80/20, now I'm at a 90/10 after a class with Scott at MSP. With a good draw and slowing back down in my presentation to get a good sight picture, I see my dot and not inducing too much input onto the gun and pressing my shot. It finally has become intuiative; push, pinky, press the shot. Keep up the great work. Oh, and Scott says, "Does that make sense?" the entire class as well. All good. 😆

You guys are amazing for putting this info out there. The standing instruction was very proficient but only practice and dry fire will get you to good. The vehicle portion was very comprehensive for the amount of time and i agree with all of the points made. Windshield shooting is so nuanced that i agree it should be a last resort. I never shot through a windshield but my partner did (5 shots) and missed every one. If i ever come out to you guys for training, ill tell you the story. Anyway, all the tactical and prep info regarding vehicles was on point. Leaving turning space is definitely the best advantage you will have if you do not see it coming. Thanks again! Really enjoyed this video. You answered one question I had about shooting finger placement, Last night I was watching a Wilson Combat video where Massad Ayoob said the first knuckle of the trigger finger wrapped around the trigger was a good thing to reduce trigger pull effort and has been practiced by him and others. I like the pad of my finger on the trigger for straight back pull. I had previously heard that wrapping the first knuckle would cause a pulled shot. Perhaps I learned this from a long standing Bullseye shooter and or an article I read about trigger control for target shooting....not sure
@MrGrace
@MrGrace 6 ай бұрын
Youre absolutely right, I've heard that the knuckle is not the ideal place to pull the trigger from. But that's interesting that you've heard it can be good. I guess the bottom line is to TRAIN with whatever way you choose so that you are efficient with it.

The problem I have is with the grip he use. I can’t hit anything holding my gun that way. I’ve have notable instructors (Ayoob, Farnham, Maglio) try to teach me and it just doesn’t work for me. I shoot fastest and most accurately using a “thumbs down crush grip”. I really wish instructors would take into account that the thumbs forward grip is not the “be all, end all” for everyone.

Knowing the law should be a CCW law class that's the easy part. Putting 5 rounds in a massive square with no time limit or draw and telling people they are good to carry when they suck at shooting and know nothing about their actual abilities... Know the law but also know how to use your gun...Wouldn't recommend pulling the trigger on any gun while holstering.

Quick question, theoretically wouldnt you want to practice with a deathgrip because in the moment of needing to use deadly force your adrenaline will be rushing and you wont fully be thinking properly and more than likely deathgripping the gun out of fear?

EMS here. Belt is too high for safe use if it sits behind your holster, above your actual lap and in your navel area. In the event of a collision (more likely than needing to draw your firearm), the thing that's supposed to keep you safe is going to do more damage. Belt over holster, shirt over belt
