Heck yeah!!! I believe it was Ben Stoeger who mentioned this as well. USPSA needs to do this to have it grow to the next level. Thanks so much for doing this!!! Please keep doing it!!!

I’m a combat sports commentator, having called broadcasts in 13 countries over the last decade….and I have wanted to commentate shooting sports for ages. I think there’s a big appetite for better produced coverage including commentary. Enjoyed this video a ton and I thought your added audio was great.

No question; without a doubt would watch USPSA if it was on TV/streaming. There's a reason why History Channel's "Top Shot" was popular. Analysis and commentary for the sport would provide valuable insight for shooters of all levels. Also, would provide more visibility and introduce new shooters to the sport.

I love shooting and love the mind game of USPSA. However, I feel that watching people shoot is like dry toast. The only way you could hold attention for this sport would be phenomenal camera insights as they’re shooting. The stage would need to be set up with a live feed cameras on each target and from the shooters perspective. Commentator insight into stage run choices, errors and time factors like you’re discussing in this video is great. Ultimately the viewer needs to feel the pressure and perspective of the shooter for it to hold an audience.

To non shooters it's like watching paint dry. When I show videos to my friends or co-workers, they all say they can't tell whats going on... they can't see what target is being shot at, or what the hits are. They don't get it. There's a reason that "Top Shot" on the History Channel couldn't even scrape up 3 million viewers. The producers had to scramble to produce drama outside of the actual shooting portions. I do remember when shooting sports were on espn and sponsored by Jeep, Levis, Coke... then bill clinton came along...

I'm going to echo a previous commenter's mention of Top Shot as an example of shooting competitions being watchable. Add another camera or two and it could be quite fun. Would love to see a walk through of each stage by the camera with some visuals to make things a bit more clear to the viewer. Add a good intro to the structure of the competition, scoring, and standings (for those who have never entered a competition), and you might even grow the competitions along the way. Live stream and take super chats, sell merch, maybe make some money for additional prize winnings or to support the cost of doing the streams?

No. I don't even much like watching it while participating. I generally only like to watch shooting sports when you can instantly see the results. ISSF channel showing skeet, trap, and some of the other olympic-style sports where you see the target get hit. In rapid-fire pistol (olympic), they show split screen the shooter and the hit results. Same with Biathlon. In USPSA-type shooting the only ones that I've enjoyed watching are the shooter against shooter steel. Now that's exciting when the shooters are paired competitively with close results. Regular steel-only matches are fun to watch. Shoot'em up as many and as fast as you can with par times. Excitement.

this is why USPSA never grew to the size it could have been , no one really knew what it was unless you had someone to show you or were willing to read the rules and watch tones of 1:40 long footage of matches

In my opinion for TV/streaming you would need a real time method of showing hits/scoring. Kind of like how hockey was unwatchable until they figured out how to highlight the puck. You would need to film in such a way to show both the shooter nd the targets in frame.

In order for USPSA (and any other shooting competition) to have any success on TV, the hits on target would need to be visible in real time. Otherwise you see how the shooter is moving, but have no idea of how well he's actually doing. And if you don't have an idea of how well he's doing as he's going through the stage, then the whole thing is hard to watch and boring at the same time.
@ExecutiveTrainingGroup11 ай бұрын
I agrre a real time display if hits would be awesome.
@jeffersondaviszombie273411 ай бұрын
@@ExecutiveTrainingGroup It would definitely be quite an awesome technical accomplishment. Unfortunately I don't think a shooting sport would be watchable without it.
@Barnes82811 ай бұрын
You can’t see live scoring in fighting sports, snowboarding, or plenty of other sports. If you were televising USPSA you’d have to be switching between stages almost constantly to avoid watching the reset. All of this would make it difficult to compare and keep track of what’s happening on the stage since you’re switching between stages so often. I do think you could have a very well done production for USPSA, but I think doing it live would be hard. This video was very well done and I think something like this with detailed breakdowns and two “in the booth” commentators and one or two “on the ground” commentators getting interviews would be awesome. Throw in a couple “features” which breakdown things like “how to shoot a swinger” or “dynamic movement explained” etc would be awesome. I agree you’d need a way to score the stages faster or instantly so you can see the results right after the shooter is done. Going back to my example of snowboarding you don’t get instant results for Olympics or Xgames or other competitions like that, but it is very quick and you get the instant reaction to the results from the competitors. Hopefully someone can make this happen.

What type of holster is Scott using, in what type of mount? It looks like it's accomodating his CZ S2 with Tevo thumblock, and it has a lever lock as well. I need a holster like this for my S2 w/Tevo. I asked GX if he'll make a vice for my S2 with Tevo, but was told no.
@scotthauswirth811311 ай бұрын
Very perceptive, and you are correct. I ran into the same challenge you are having. So I made this holster from an older holster. I removed the lock from a GX I had for a Sig, drilled new holes for the lock, and measured and cut the Kydex to allow for the thumb rest. A bicycle seat lock will also work since most people don’t have extra GX holsters lying around.

I wouldn’t watch bc the current USPSA Board needs to go. Then we can talk about getting more people into the sport.
@ExecutiveTrainingGroup11 ай бұрын
I am not a fan of the bod either. That being said I think the more people that join the shooting sports the better as I care more about people being good with their weapons. I also think it is possible that the more people who get in volved the harder it will be for the bod to get away with what they do, but I could be wrong on that to be honest.
@septimiusseverus115411 ай бұрын
I would but you'll need better angles, capturing both the targets and the shooter and, if not live, then some editing to mark the hits on the targets as the shooter goes through the stage.
