When the historical premise was revealed in the second half of the movie, I really loved it. I thought it was fascinating for a Korean film to be tackling the trauma of Japanese occupation through the language of horror. However, as you say, it was not worked organically into the movie from the beginning, and didn't compel the fascination and payoff that should have come with this twist. It felt like watching two movies, which is sad, because a cohesive whole could have been awesome! Thanks for your great review!

It was an amazing movie 🍿

Finished it last night. Thought the first quarter was off to an amazing start, really high quality great movie. I wasn't a fan of how they physically showed paranormal entities, it took a significant step down once the spirit literally was being manifest on screen. Pretty much after that, i just thought it was alright. Pretty good quality for what it was and enjoyable all the way to the end but was not really a fan personally and not what I wanted the movie to be.

Was waiting for your review...this movie had a lot of potential...but it didn't quiet well transitioned from first part to the second...first one was compelling because most of the entity we saw was in mirror giving it a more creepy vibes but then the second half came...has a lot of history related portion liked it...but felt that smth was missing and it is that the entity is shown so the suspence was shifted and I think that is what was the mistake still loved it got to know more about the historical events...they did their job via research...if these are two seperate movies it would have worked...such a shame that budget(could be one of the reason) stopped them from exploring that idea...

...It was not good. 😢😢😢 I was expecting "The Wailing" type of scary.
