I remember buying this from a flea market in the 90s for a dollar. It was too short and too easy but I freaking LOVE the music. The music makes up for all the other shortcomings. I still play it every few years just to hear all the tracks

i think the item is called heath potion but they messed up trying to make it into clear words from japan to usa so heath potion became heart poison

Closer to Ys than Zelda. This series I always thought was cool due to its focus on touchy subjects of religion and history. Better on PC-88

I absolutely loved the story, sound effects were annoying but loved the music. I'd give it a 9/10!

The HUGE amount of censorship in the Genesis version is really disappointing. I know the TG-CD version was as well, but way less than that. Still, it is a great Genesis game!

Good review and I like the way you touched on the things that turned you off about the game. It was a very tasteful way to touch on a subject that most would ignore or avoid. Personal principles are important even in video games. Good work. I genuinely enjoyed this video.

Great review. Love your honesty and moral values that most KZfaq broad casters don’t consider. I know this is an older vid, but I’m trying to watch a review on every Megadrive/ Genesis game ever made and really happy when I see 1 of yours. Keep up the great work. Many blessings Andy

If you're worried about objectionable material, play this one on the Genesis and not the Turbo CD. That version's got a lot less censoring, in terms of content, language, some nudity, and subject matter. The story for this game in its uncut form does not portray its Christians-in-all-but-name very kindly. I mean, it's accurate enough to history if not to the teachings of God. Some folks are sensitive about that. It's a good game, but maybe not one you want to subject the tweens to.

Haha nice shoutouts! Rootro Obscura Poopcast! Fair points about this game! I had the same uneasiness playing Breath of Fire 2 and Xenogears (though Xenogears is still pretty awesome) because of the anti-religious tones in places. If you want to play a great game called Exile - check out the PC/MAC game free below from the developer.
