In this video, I explain and demonstrate how fire sprinklers function. Three different types of sprinklers are showcased. With each activation, one of my fire alarm demonstration systems is set off. I’ve received numerous comments of many people saying this is not a valid test. Such comments include: “the sprinklers weren’t at the proper water pressure” “there wasn’t a ceiling” “the sprinklers had different activation temperatures/response times” etc.
I cannot stress enough that this video is NOT intended to be a legitimate test to determine what sprinkler is superior, which activates faster, and demonstrating the effectiveness of sprinklers. This is just a simple experiment and informational video on how fire sprinkler systems function. The response time rating I give each sprinkler is purely for fun and not meant to be taken literally.
