If you are worried about bumping a buck you are after in mornings, hunt a different property in mornings. If you don't hunt mornings because you are afraid of bumping deer you are missing out on some great opportunities.

I hunt mornings in August, September, October, November, December and January... It all comes down to weather fronts and wind directions... Deer have to eat and drink, and Deer have to mate... We as hunters just have to pick the "RIGHT Places" to be, (I prefer East/West creek-lines between two major crossings with bedding and food sources on either side), and the "RIGHT Times" to be there... That's why scouting (Visual and Walking) during shed hunting season is so valuable!!!

I love when guys in my hunt club sleep in, in October. I can play the wind and not worry about someone walking in on my set. I especially like dragging a buck back into camp to a group of guys with coffee cups in their hands. Like first guy said, it’s all situational. Temp, wind, pressure, preferred foods, etc

Yes, hunt mornings, Yes hunt mid day. Yes hunt evenings. Strategy changes a little, Broaden your hunting range. Pick morning sits, noon sits, evening sits. When I was young I ALWAYS had at least 20 different options to choose from. ALL on public lands. Mornings and evenings seemed to work best for me, equally, but I did have a tendency to sleep during the mid day sits.

Yea Cody really helped me get out of this mentality that you "can't do this and that " I was told not to hint public land field edges and did that for 4 years without killing a buck. My first sit on a field edge on public land I killed my first whitetail buck. I feel like I'm one of the ones who was pumped with a bunch of useless info. And getting out of that mentality has helped me get on more deer.

I've only been hunting deer for 6 year's and I've shot 7 does and 2 10 points. Both buck's I got in the last 2 seasons. And ever deer I have taken has been early morning in the 1st 2 week's of bow. My 1st 10 is a 149+ and my second 10 is a 156+. I never sit the same spot twice. And the last 3 year's I have switched from stands to ground hunting in a leaf suite from Sept to Dec. Then I blind hunt Dec to Feb. I hunt private land in southeast Ohio and public land around Dayton

My 2 main hunting areas I've spooked deer out in the early AM entering from multiple access points. I'm talking full on blown at spooked. I've also seen huge bucks in the AM... but killed all my deer in the evenings. It's not a 1 size fits all IMO but I will continue to hunt any time I have available to me regardless of AM or PM.

Here in Oklahoma it's way cooler in the mornings than evenings in October, so around the 15th or so you have a better chance of a big buck sneaking around before he goes to bed and it's way cooler ...

If you do you homework and know how the deer you want to hunt use a property there is no reason to not hunt mornings. Have good access, use the wind and you’ll have success. One could argue in early October bucks are still on a pattern both morning and evening and are much easier to kill with the proper knowledge.I learned a long time ago that there are many ways to be successful. Learn from other people but understand every situation is different and only you know what’s right or wrong for your specific situation.

Trial and error, trail cams, years of experience, location, wind direction, are all factors to consider but not to hunt mornings you’re losing in a lot of ways. Some areas that are public with many other hunters or private land border by private land that is always heavily hunted basically produce pressured deer. Many abandoned the fields before first light and are 3/4 of the way to their bedding areas when “shooting light arrives “. So adjust accordingly, get back in those areas an hour or so before first light, don’t come in the same way the deer are traveling if possible. Slip in behind them and get setup, be ready for the first hour of shooting light. Another thing nobody seems to be talking about is the effect that Coyotes and CoyWolfDogs have had on deer movement. The traditional mass migration of deer into the fields in the evening has changed, at least in the east for many locations. The movement especially for many mature deer is that last 30 minutes or less of shooting light before they enter the field. Adjust accordingly, setup back a little further. My theory is the deer have changed their habits to adjust to CoyWolf peak movements, they want to be up on their feet, fully awake, and limber the at the same times. I’ve been bow hunting since 1975, seen a lot of changes, never stop learning.

Woulda been nice to hear him finish a thought without being interrupted by the interviewer every time he tried to convey his message. I guess imo people are just overthinking everything. Ahhh don’t hunt the morning. Ahhhh don’t hunt that stand or this stand. Me I’ve gotten nice buck in the morning and nice buck in the evening. Now me I’m not one to only go after the monster trophy 16 point buck. I’ve shot nice 8 points 9 point 10 point even a big 7 point cuz no matter how long I boil the antlers they still never made good soup. I hunt to fill my freezer. Now of course early season I will usually not shoot the first buck I see because I know there are nicer ones out there. So I will usually let them walk on by but I’m on public land and if I don’t take one someone else will but still I will wait especially if it’s the first day. I may be waiting for a certain buck and someone already tagged it. Public land is a challenge and I never used trail cams until last year. I always scouted using signs. Looking for scrapes or trails and rubs. I’ve had great success doing it and of course when you get to know where they are bedding and play the wind taking your time getting in to your spot in the morning you have a better chance than you would sitting on your couch. I’ve bumped deer heading in in the morning not know what they are but listening which way they are going only to catch them coming back. I guess what I’m saying is everyone has their way and everyone is doing the Same thing and that is trying to outsmart the buck they are after. I just do what I do without overthinking it. And I love ground hunting. Just seems more up close and personal usually using a ghost blind. I set up and kick back and wait.

I think people overcomplicate things. Hunting I would say is 75%Luck nobody knows if that deer you got picture of yesterday is going to walk the exact same path or come back to the same spot the next morning or evening. The best way to kill big deer is to be in the woods. I don't use any scent control at all I just play the wind and have never had problems putting deer on the ground

What's the biggest buck this guy has killed? I've noticed a massive difference in deer numbers when I'm able to sneak in quietly vs when I bump something, and a smart buck is not going to come back your way after bumping him unless he really just wasn't sure what you were. And even then your chances are slim to none. He may kill a lot of deer, but I'd bet they're not the brightest deer in the woods.

I will hunt mornings mid day or a evening. Sometimes I hunt all day. I have killed deer at different times even during bow season here in ga in September. I'm not a genius but it's a dang fact you won't kill a deer from the living room recliner or the nice cozy bed! Carry on now lol

If you keep hunting both Morning's/Evenings day in day out, you will eventually Burn Out, and then miss out on either what would of been a great morning or evening hunt !

See we’re I’m hunting there’s pressure, more rifle hunters hunting shacks, quads just riding, gas line people, but the deer no there is no one in the woods from dark to about 8:30am. So in this spot I have better sits in the morning. That’s just my opinion on why I see so many bucks moving in the morning up there. But yea if you bump one, Hopfully it’s just easy bump and they circle back I think out of curiosity and because there so confident about the morning being safe.

I think everyone is different, and certain Hunting areas are different. There's a swamp I Hunt up here in northeast Wisconsin, The AG the deer feed on is a long way, with no good bedding in between, so the swamp edge is great morning Hunting even in September. I have what I call prime & secondary Hunting spots, that I Hunt based on the conditions & wind I need for that spot, and the Bucks I've targeted in that area. Trail cameras help me figure out when & with what wind I need to Hunt certain spots. Lots of people Hunt a property. I Hunt regions, The North half of Wisconsin, and the U.P. I think calling evenings the only time to Hunt October is a Huge mistake. While you won't likely catch big Bucks except right by their Beds in the evening, catching them going back to bed late in the morning after an evening storm is solid early season tactics.

I hunt mornings all season long and I've killed deer in the mornings a hell of a lot. I walk in and total darkness no headlamp no light at all if you jump a deer walking in with no light they're not going to know if you was a human or an animal they ain't going to know. And there's been plenty of times I've jumped deer walk into my stain in the morning and they come back through before the morning's over and I know that for a fact due to my trail cameras
