Could not be more true. I place cameras well above my head 7 to 8 ft and well away from the "target zone" I've had more mature deer pics since I started this.

I got rid off all my red flash cameras and got black flash. i used to get video after video of a deer spooking off after right after the video started recording.

I denfitny have had red flash cameras spook deer but my exdous cell camera has never spooked anything I'm aware of. I also mount the camera higher in the tree like he said and thats the only way I'll do it.

put the white flash camera in the woods and see how nothing spooks from it much any other camera spooks all kinds of deer but not all -all deer are different , some look like they love the camera some spook from it at 30 yards and never come back in general deer are tollerant of the cameras especially if camouflaged so they cant pick it up

I bought a couple from tractor supply. Treeline I think and they absolutely stunk bad. Spray with anything to get that nastiness off. It puts out decent pics but I'm sure there are way better for me to try

Muddy & Stealth Cam work great (basically perfect) for me and both brands run on the same app (Command Pro App). External Battery Box with Solar Panels by HME really allow them to last long as well. Tactacam Solar Panels are better than batteries alone but the HME Battery Box & Solar Panel are about the same price (possibly cheaper) and so far have performed better.

You talked about the flash types. Does anyone sell a camera that has a true “invisible” flash or IR flash. I have bought a few different cameras clamming to have an invisible flash but it seems to be a red flash led camera with a black filter. When I look at the camera flash in the dark I still can see the red glow even though it is quite low.

Very good question and concern Brian. To fully know 100%, from a consumer stand point, you would need to measure the wavelengths of the flash. I can also say most camera companies who are using 940nm LEDs allow them to fire at a lower wavelength during the flash. To clarify, the lower parameter of wavelength coming from the LEDs is often in the IR spectrum as well as 940+. To your point, this is why companies including us use a black "filter" over the flash units.

I’m not sure in this. Because the UV wavelength different I would guess no.

Put you camera on the side of the trail especially if your using flash. Most time deer will never see it if their nit looking that way. I like to hang them high. With not so much cover behind them as far as sky line. Deer are used to seeing flashing lights in the sky. Just get smart with placement

I've had big deer stand and take pic every day. I very had little bucks run away. Each deer is different some are less nervous about them than others. Deer that's been use to cameras for years seem to not give a shit about it. And deer that haven't been seeing cameras are a little bit nervous no matter the age.

This is a very accurate statement! The more normal it becomes with deer not relating it to danger the more you can get away with.

The deer either smell or see the camera or hear an internal Humm. No way could a deer pick up the RF signal the camera puts out even though it's a radio.

You will love doing that. Gives you a much wider field of view. I recently got 7 deer in a pic doing it this way. Takes a little practice to get your angles right but you'll never go back. I set mine at about 7 to 8 ft.

Timing is another issue. If you don't put a camera in advance before a buck establishes a core area he could see the camera as something out of place.

You are correct they are not...They live to survive. However, when they relate ANYTHING to danger it WILL and DOES impact their behavior.

Another difference in cell cams and regular trail cams is that cell cams are considered to not be fair chase .Its not a debate it's a fact ..The title of this video is ignorant .You litterally are talking about situations that would spook a deer wether it be a cell cam or not.

I agree the title is a little misleading but I think what Chad is try to point out is that it doesn’t matter what camera you use, cellular or standard, if you use it in the manner he mentions they spook deer. Being a public land hunter I always hang my camera high but never thought about not using a strap so it doesn’t attract human attention.

I just returned my tacacam sk cameras. They claim they cant be put up high to work properly. Also lots of problems. They also just shorten their video from 60sec to 10. I use only video to see each deers personality. They are all very different. I hunt public land in lbl, ky

I wish other trail camera companies put out educational videos like Exodus does. Chad is always educating us so we get better use of any camera and understand better how they work.
