Not here to “demonize” this tarantula, but it is in fact, one that posses venom of high potency. I was told it was one of the most (if not THE MOST) dangerous tarantula species in the hobby - Stromatopelma calceatum (Feather Legged Baboon). I'm not lying about it putting a fellow subscriber of mine in the hospital. Not this individual, of course.. but his own. I’m not exactly sure what happened, but he got bitten and was admitted to the hospital. He has been discharged. Note that so far (from what I know), there hasn’t been any recorded deaths from a tarantula bite, however, there are species like this that we should take extra care when dealing-with in the hobby.
