Coil guns are just the word we use for light/early model railguns

Do you have a video that explains all the differences from a normal SE server, and the unique building process?

The biggest two things are this - your main drives can only point one way (enforced with a custom plugin on server), and your weapons must be 2 blocks away from another weapon (enforced with a custom plugin on server). Other than that it’s just like normal SE.

Yeah same, the reason I don't play anymore is it's just not built for the more realistic, long range kind of ship play that I want, but this server does come close.

@@romain5967 We have 16km torpedos and players can kite other ships trying to stay in torpedo range only - but at the end of the day this is still SE at its core the engine can only handle so much

@@alphamatte4259 yeah exactly, engines just not built for it, also i really don't like weapons core lol, what i really want is verging on DCS level realism and interactivity. I tried using scripts and timers and stuff to sort of trick the game into making this sort of thing work but it was just too janky. If you know of any DCS esc space sims let me know!! This server does always entice me to come back though...

I can't help but think, there must be still be a ugly meta setup out in Draconis Expanse. Like maybe a ship crammed full of torps, for a one hundred torp alpha strike, released 1 per frame on opposite side so the PD have a hard time turning to engage.

ive literally had this argument with someone with 12k hours in se they thought bricks with guns were significantly better then any ships that look nice i got some really good designs from my friend royalwaffles heard he was banned from being adick which i can tell is true lol

Yeah we do a lot of stuff in our server to mechanically prevent thruster/gun bricks and this is the result. 90% of meta ships look good cause they basically have to

shis definition of the word pvp is not closed. same as 1+3=5 if 1=3 and 3=0 and 5=3. which is an open set and therefor useless, has no meaning and you will get bullied in school for it. (no, not the school you went to) its a space fashion roleplay server and playing a kids game as a grown ass adult is commonly frowned upon. mind you i would have done it regardless, if it wasnt for like 50 pages of larping rules, which i dont actually know exist, i just assume it. but look at that ship and tell me they dont. edit: fake edit. back to reddit you go

Also "Castila System" is mentioned in the Expanse books which is where we pulled the name from. I've never played Star Citizen and don't really care about it at all.
