Marinette / Ladybug holds the power of Creation. In the original series, she always summons a "lucky charm" to help her in battle. Lucky charms are ordinary objects (but with her signature red and black spots on it), but with Ladybug's brains and instinct, she uses the lucky charm in a creative way. After battle, she purifies the akuma (dark butterfly) and tosses the lucky charm into the air; the lucky charm transforms into miraculous ladybugs that'll restore the damage done by the villain. (Ladybugs are a sign of good luck, contrasting Marinette, who is infamously known as the unlucky girl. But despite that, she's lucky in the family aspect of her life.) Adrien / Cat Noir holds the power of Destruction. In the original series, he has a special power, "Cataclysm". When he activates the "Cataclysm", he can destroy anything he touches with his dominant hand (the hand with the ring) (he can still clench his fist and hold his stick). Ladybug's miraculous ladybugs also fixes whatever Cat Noir destroyed. (Black cats are a sign of misfortune/bad luck, hence the power of Destruction. Adrien is definitely lucky, he's rich, known worldwide, and is the image of 'perfection'. He's unlucky in the family aspect though.) As Ladybug, she is more confident and lucky. Opposite to her true identity, a girl known to be insecure and unlucky. As Cat Noir, he is more sensitive and carefree. Opposite to his true identity, a boy known to be flawless and obedient. In the show, Marinette and Adrien are portrayed as Yin and Yang. Direct opposites to each other, but also similar in ways. They're made for each other, with and without the mask. Their character designs are an example. Marinette wears a black jacket over her white shirt. She wears pink jeans, and has dark (blue) hair. Adrien wears a white jacket over his black shirt. He wears a dark blue jeans, and has light blonde hair. Hope this helps you understand Miraculous better. The series and the movie are different. Some aspects in the series are disregarded in the movie (like Ladybug's Lucky Charm power and a lot more).

Just to advise, the movie had to be very quick, the show on the other hand, goes much more in depth. Now, keep in mind that miraculous ladybug is not like other shows, this is a kids show broadcasted to over 120 countries and because of this, there are a lot of restrictions on the show, meaning it’s very difficult to write, but regardless, the creator and his team have explained that they can’t please everyone, but if your having fun watching the show, then their doing their job right as they simply try to make it fun for all ages. We do recommend you watch the series in order, it’s a fun ride.

i know its frustrating that they liked eachother but couldn't tell because of the mask but for the people who only watched the movie they are lucky the people who were watching the series from the we start we literally had to deal with that for 4-5 years but it's satisfying seeing this movie now

The movie it’s actually another whole universe from the TV show 👀 but I still love it ❤️ I think the movie was based on the original plotline of the series (kinda) because at first it was supposed to be an anime and Marinette’s character/ personality was like in the movie.

The only things i had felt was wrong with this movie was that Ladybug and Chat were rivals and not partners like in the show... and really if you havent seen the show it's kinda hard to know what the stakes are and why each character does what they do... plus the ending was to me felt rushed... I liked it dont get me wrong and hope they do something similar in the show that makes sense for the progression its going now but it still felt like there wasn't a connection to the side characters as much as they are in the show like Nino, Chloe, and Alya and we barley if at all see Lila... and her other classmates as well... I know this is probably set before the other super heroes arrive and are chosen but we still got to see them more because they were victims of Hawkmoth more often than not...

With the action scenes and the songs, this movie is a fusion of Spider-Man and Froezen... AWESOME!!!!

You know, I saw a review for this movie, and the guy raised a very interesting point...Can you imagine what it must feel like to be Thomas Astruc right now? I mean, you've been hacking away at this show for five Seasons now ("hack", being the operative word here, as at least half of it was a complete garbage fire, let's not lie to ourselves). And after the fifth Season wraps, your BOSS, who basically said, "Hold my beer", comes swooping in, not a month later, and in 90 MINUTES, shows off a better product than YOU'VE managed to put together in EIGHT YEARS ("Yeah, that's how it's done, b[BEEP!]tch! Mic drop! Buh-bye!"). I mean, what do you SAY to that?

Mayura should be in the next movie bruh like just think about it if the butterfly miraculous is shown extremely strong in this movie the the peacock miraculous is even more stronger that the butterfly miraculous then how cool it will be to see Nathalie as Mayura 🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚

This movie fells short compared to the origins episode of the show. It’s way better despite having only the half length of this movie.

As someone who has watched all of the series of Miraculous Ladybug up until now....I much prefer this movie. I was unsure about it at first but they somehow gave more development to characters than they did in FIVE SEASONS of the show. Not saying the show isn't good because I've genuinely enjoyed it, I just prefer the movie now

Fun fact, when we first were watching the show, no one knew that Adrien‘s dad was hawkmoth They all were just theories lol.

Honestly, the movie is much better than the series. The characters are written better, and Idk if its just me, but it's more simple, but i like it that way. There isn't so many other miraculous holders and their own stories, its just the main few characters and their relationships. The pacing is so much better, like they have their own relationship. Also marrinette isn't a creep and much more likeable and not ridiculously OP. Also, the season 5 ending was kinda sucky, this movie has a better ending with a redemption arc for Gabe, AND a reveal. Its how the show was originally meant to be before it became really complicated. I kinda wish it was longer though, and I'm wondering what the next movie will be like because everything is solved in this movie, so I feel like they should've kept some things or made it longer (just because I like it so much lol). Another good thing is Lila isn't there (thank gosh).

Miraculers, since the movie was rushed and messy due to the limited timing and the high number of songs, let's make some NOISE and request an Extended version of the movie, adapting some of the deleted scenes and concept ideas to provide at least some development of the story. Let's ESPECIALLY request the adaptation of the Stunning fight sequence of the White Board original concept! That original concept was FAR more touching instead of the Cringe and Rushed version we got. Creators will often do this when fans request it, it's called an "Extended Director's Cut". Let's unite as a Fandom and fix the Movie!

Watch the series. It's so cute and the evil characters are more evil. Lila and Gabriel mostly. It didn't show Lila in the movie but yeah I hate how manipulative they can be. She's crazier than Gabriel. You also have to watch the specials. It goes with the series.

Am I the only person who had serious issues with the movie? The whole thing was majorly underdeveloped. First of all, they didn't explain the rules of the miraculous very well at all. The wish was never properly explained to the audience. And the powers of the ladybug and cat miraculous were super vague. I've watched the whole show and even I was confused with the direction they were taking. Magic and superpowers need to have rules, and these ones weren't properly established. The pacing of the story was super off, and things happened very unnaturally. Particularly with Marinettes crisis of being ladybug. And at the end, Gabriel literally had to TELL the whole story of his wife to his own son for the audience to know about it. Good storytelling means you would've slowly figured that out throughout the film. They made Marinette super insecure and didn't really show all of her strengths and skills that make her a good ladybug. In the show she is indeed clumsy, and she has insecurities in regards to adrien, and occasionally the pressure of being ladybug. But in this her self hatred was so weird? And in the show she has leadership skills, she's a good planner, she's creative in ways outside of just artsy design work, and she has this amazing ability to utilize the things around her to solve every problem. These are the things that made her an exceptional ladybug and they really didn't show it in this movie at all. Her biggest skill was just that she "has so much love" which is true of the character. But not what makes her a great hero. Also, they completely botched Adriens character in this. The idea of adrien is that he lost his mom, he's been isolated his whole life, and he sees how lonely and cold his dad has become. So when he finally goes into the world and makes friends, he really cherishes them and cares about their opinions. Partially he's insecure about what people think, but mosty he just really values them. And then even as Chat Noir, he's a little sillier and more outgoing because he has the anonymity of the mask to protect him, but he's still a lovable, caring and thoughtful cinnamon roll that we all adore. In this movie, they made him super depressed and grumpy, or genuinely just an asshole. He said "after my mom died I promised myself I would'nt get close to anybody" but thats the opposite of adrien. Thats what Gabriel did and Adrien resented him for it. Chat noir in the show teases ladybug, but in an affectionate manner. This Chat noir was arrogant and seemed to actually think he was better than her, and his teasing usually wasn't charming. It aas genuinely annoying. Then, after she rejected him, he wasn't gonna go save her when she needed him??? Plagg had to convince him. That's so toxic. Also, they really developed Ladynoir but not Adrienette. So when Ladybug rejected Chat it came off as really weird, because weve seen her bond with chat through these life or death experiences. But then she rejects him for this guy that we've only seen her have shallow interactions with a couple of times at school? Both relationships should've had a balance to them. Also Chloe never said "Utterly Ridiculous" and I can't forgive that. My favorite part of this movie was Hawkmoths Villain song. And that was really it. Of course there were certain scenes individually that I really loved watching as a fan and seeing our characters in this beautiful animation. The songs were pretty, and the quality itself was well done. But as a whole, they missed SO MANY points, and I think the things that they missed really took away the elements that make Miraculous special. They've turned our unique, lovable characters, into basic ordinary everyday teen characters in every highschool movie. And these are all things that I think if the writers had utilized their time better, could've been achieved and explained, even if adding an extra 10 minutes to the film was necessary to do so. I really hate the singing, they could do without it tbh and make the story more cohesive because some parts feel out of place. Most of the writing is cheesy just like the original. I just thought they’d improve the story yk? The animation is so good though! And I love the reveals at the end. But man I really hate the singing, it’s terrible 😟

If I saw the series, I think you would not empathize with Adrien's father (in my case I cannot empathize) I have done many things that I stopped seeing Adrien as his son a long time ago, I am glad that he finally told his father his truths. .. what adrien needed was a father by his side

This movie reminds me of Angry Birds Movie, where they were both made by a company that you don't expect them to make a movie, and this is the result.

Am I the only one who was extremely disappointed by the movie??? I had such high hopes, but my daughter and I were both unimpressed. The writing was not even close to as clever as the show. The first 20-30 minutes were nice, and I enjoyed Marinette's inner conflict over becoming a superhero (the song was cute too), but everything else felt so forced and rushed. The heavy emotions they tried to drop on the audience fell flat, especially with Adrien. Nothing was fleshed out enough to make me care. Marinette from the show is a spastic disaster, yes, but she has depth. They could have at least shown her making her dress for the ball, something, anything to tie in the fashion designer aspect of her character that they lazily drizzled in for seemingly no reason. Adrien/CN is one of my favorite animated characters, but the Adrien in this movie was just a dull sad boi whose cheeky alter-ego barely managed to be charming and seemed to come out of left field (whereas in the show it's very clear that being CN gives Adrien a sense of freedom he's never known). Even if I put all that aside, there was the glaring plot hole at the climax where the audience is left to wonder what happened between LB, CN & Gabriel after father and son hugged it out. Maybe it's because I'm so used to the "pound it" at the end of each battle, but it felt cheap of the writers to conveniently leave this out. Hawkmoth and Cat Noir's identities were both revealed, I'm pretty sure LB would have had some kind of conversation with them afterward (and it would have been an important one). I know I'm being nitpicky about a movie for kids that all in all is not half bad, I was just expecting so much more. Everyone said Jeremy Zag's vision for Miraculous was better than Thomas Astruc's, but I will have to politely disagree. I can't wait to see how season 5 ends!!
