Plague Doctor + Atheist game. Story teller, "I'm the goblin."

Twin jinx idea: if you have two storytellers, one becomes an Evil Storyteller and one becomes a Good Storyteller.

I went to the wiki to look at the plague doctor's list of jinxes, only to discover, yet again that the wiki doesn't list jinxes on the roles pages. I think it'd be a good idea to have a list of suggested jinxes on each role's page, maybe near the bottom, just so that information is available on the role's page instead of needing to go and look at the Djinn's page.

I got to play in a couple of plague doctor games on release day. It was absolute madness. I pointed out to the storyteller that if you put a barber on script, you can swap the plague doctor once they're dead and kill them again to give the storyteller a second ability.

May I suggest for the Evil Twin jinx: "If the storyteller would gain the Evil Twin's ability, they instead tell a good player that they are the Good Twin: if that player is executed, their team loses." This replaces the ability with one that is functionally the same but does not make it impossible for good to win.

Well that was a chaotic train wreck from start to finish for evil. I guess everyone claiming goblin on the evil team on day 2 went about the best it could go 🤔🤣

Man, i was already excited for this new character based on some other games I had seen . . . but those jinxes? Just give the storyteller the ability to add chaos if and how they want. Love it. ^_^

Now we never got the answer whether the lil monsta was intentionally given to the two players holding babies irl 🤔

In order to reduce the required number of jinxes, maybe you should rephrase the plague doctor's ability to: "A minion gains an additional not in play minion ability. If that ability would make any decisions, the choices are arbitrary"

Maybe I’m confused here, but would a lycanthrope holding the baby register as the demon to the soldier’s ability, making the soldier safe from the demon lycanthrope? Or did it not matter in this specific game because the storytellers decided to take the baby off of lycanthrope after dusk?

Awesome! Idea for a positive twin jinx: a minion immediately (i the night) selects a player. If that player is good, the minion gains the twin ability in addition to their regular ability, and the selected player is designated as the good twin. (the good twin learns that they are the good twin, but neither learns the other player’s role)

Just today I ran a game with the plague doctor. They died causing final 3 when the only possible ability would be the scarlet woman which would be useless in addition to all the minions being dead

I suddenly want lil monsta game with a Boom Dandy and a Scarlet Witch. Boom Dandy convinces town to vote them out asap, and then turn has a minute to figure out who is the Scarlet Woman.

I've been waiting for this so excitedly since the off meta crew ran their PD game. It looks like so much chaotic fun

How does a scarlet woman interact with vigormortis? If the vigor kills the SW, and they keep the ability, what happens when the vigor dies? Does the SW get revived? Probably not. Do they need to be executed a second time, like killing the zombul twice?

An interesting game, but it didn't actually feel like a showcase of the Plague Doctor that would've been meaningfully interesting for an actual _player_ playing the Plague Doctor. I know the Outsider roles are designed to be fun for the Storyteller and for the other players playing, but they suffer from often creating a negative player experience for the person who's actually given that role. Ben and Jams here went after trying to get the Plague Doctor killed instantly so that they could have fun with it, giving no real opportunity for Edd to even try to stay alive or use his ability strategically. (Imagine a Plague Doctor, for example, carefully trying to sniff out a living General -- then deciding whether, if the General suddenly gets an "evil is winning" reading, to try and get themselves killed on purpose, in order to give the Storytellers a minion ability that the Storytellers can use to support the struggling _good team_). Outsider roles require thoughtful strategy to try and leverage, and this felt like more of a showcase of a dead Plague Doctor rather than any kind of showcase of how a player could actually approach playing the Plague Doctor in a proactive way. Still a fun game, but I felt frustrated that the player of the character being showcased wasn't actually given a chance to play that character.

In a situation like this where the lycanthrope has lil monsta, wouldn't they be unable to kill themselves anyway because they register as the demon to their own ability? Or do they only register as the demon but not as evil?

Wonderful chaos. Hindsight is 20/20, but: it seems like Evil would have been better served if the STs, instead of giving themselves the Witch ability, had given Milk the Goblin ability or created a Marionette.

I sort of expected the soldier to be safe from the demon (lil monsta) lycanthrope. Was this a whoops or (more likely) do i misunderstand the interactions?

Scarlet Woman idea: if storyteller became the scarlet woman and the demon dies, storyteller becomes the demon and must be executed for good to win (in a similar way to an athiest game but they wouldnt lose if they execute the storyteller wrongly)

I still think the SW and plaguedoctor should mean that the demon can be passed to the storyteller and then the storyteller has to be executed similar to atheist

I am confused about the lil monsta being babsat by a townsfolk. Like yea its funny and cool, but the description on the website says that lil minsta is babysat by a minion. I’d rather it work that way, though, for the cinematic value

So if you have the Goblin, the Plague Doctor, and the Atheist on a script. It would be possible for the Doctor to die, gain the Goblin ability, and for town to execute the ST, who can claim goblin, letting the ST win?

So I have seen people who play for chaos before, but Jacko seems to straightfoward play for evil being good, or I am missing something?

No one will read this but I thought it might be interesting Minion idea: the Grave Robber +1 Undertaker Once per game when evil dies you can exchange roles and the undertaker sees them as a not in play townsfolk drunk also registers as townsfolk on death, if no drunks are in game one dead townsfolk might register as a drunk to the undertaker Minion Idea: Informant At night you can point at up to three things that will then be shown to the Demon A player, a role, a token of kill or don't kill. (you cna freely combine those example: kill, kill, kill or Player A, Seamstress, Soldier or Player B, Mayor) If you are executed, you and the demon learn what role the player has that nominated you.

WHat happens if the Pit Hag turns a good player into a Marionette? I know it normally doesn't change someone's alignment, but the Marionette explicitly reads, "You think you are a good character, but you are not." So does that mean, by his role's power, he has become evil? Unlike most Pit Hag change-ups, which leave alignment intact?

New character idea: Immolater (Good). At night, choose a player, they are safe from the Demon, however if the Demon chooses them, you die instead.

A pit-hagged Lil' Monsta should be run like any other demon would be; when created, there are now two demons. No reason the demon or anyone else should change, instead the ST should kill the old demon and let the two minions decide who to give the baby.

Writing this at 05:52 I immediately hate this character. Like the atheist I don't like the storyteller becoming a part of the game influencing the game outcome so heavy handidly. I'll watch this playout and edit the comment if my view changes, but it's not an immediate love.
