The 20,000 total team snap counts of experience starting the last two years, and not all in our system, is a big part of our special transformation problems. Starting this year with 40,000 snaps, a lot of them at Florida, should make a major difference.

Urban spoiled us by having such a huge emphasis on Special Teams. AND .... it worked! Special Teams won some close games for us back then.. Napier's lack of even having a Special Teams Coordinator showed how little attention he paid to that part of the game. Because the Gators problems in 2023 were the same problems we saw in 2022. And that's my issue with Napier ..... no growth. no improvement.

Special teams is important but not as important as the offense and defense. A great offense would be able to start at their own 1 yard line and drive down the field and a great defense would be able to keep the other teams from crossing mid-field which means opponent punts will give great field position. Yes, special teams are important but even with poor play there, the Gators can still win if the offense and defense are playing complimentary football with special teams being just "average".

Florida finished #14 in the SEC in Special Team and 133 in the nation. In 10 of Florida 12 games Florida had only 10 players on the field for more than 2 times a game. Georgia game Florida had one play where they only had 9 players, this is unbelievable and should not happen to a high school team much less a SEC NCAA ELITE PROGRAM.

Data staring everyone right in the face is this years recruits having a wait and see approach. All the while recruits are committing to other schools. The trajectory isnt clear folks keep lying to yourselves. I said after the way Napier literally gifted Pittman the Arkansas game, that he had just dug himself a hole he might not be able to dig out of. Napier cant blame anyone but himself for his laid back ho hum too calm approach. That doesn't equate to SEC dominance. Hes literally learning on the job and the on field product shows and recruits are starting to notice that this guy may or may not be the answer. Time will tell tho. Me personally, my belief and stock in Napier is dwindling by the day the way he is just so numb when it comes to situations like stepping on ones throat to snatch momentum. I hope he proves me wrong. The reason Florida got a 39 grade is because of a 19 grade on Special teams the worst grade by any team in NCAA last season. The offense got a high grade of 76 on Offense and the defense got a 55 grade,

Defense has to play a lot better! Especially up front. Stop the run, pressure the qb.
