Came across this KZfaq video after researching what the hell to do because my baby was waking up every hour!! I was so exhausted. I followed every step in this video and it completely changed my life. My 5month old is sleeping through the night after day 2. I definitely said to myself “every baby is different”. But i decided to give it a try and it worked. If you’re a new mom, don’t be discouraged.

If it’s comfort for y‘all, when they turn 13-20, they will sleep like logs all the time. In the morning, afternoon, evening, be on tour through the night, go ahead sleeping, sleep in on Saturday and Sundays, not getting up before lunchtime. It will get better 🫣

When I saw this video, I followed the advise and after 3 nights he slept through the night again!!! Thank you so much, it changed our lives and we enjoyed the wake times even more :)

Yeah... Letting a baby cry it out doesn't sit well with me. Sometimes my son can sleep through, other times he doesn't, when he does wake up and cry or moan he's communicating... Either too hot, or getting cold, may have peed through his diaper, a blocked nose, thirsty or just in need of some love and affection. He's 14months old now... I've never gotten the sense that he's testing us or being spoilt... It doesn't matter how tired my husband and I get sometimes, the needs of our little one needs to be met. We will have better sleep again somday if we are privileged to live.

To all those saying proudly, no rocking, I want to say this: There is nothing wrong with rocking and cuddling to put a baby to sleep. Babies are not going to be babies forever. Don't let them cry themselves to sleep. They need to be held, cuddles, rocked and sung to! Also, don't try to make young babies sleep through the night. They need to eat in between.

This is wrong and you miss the point entirely. Sleeping through the night is learned behavior for babies. Rocking them or soothing them to sleep does not allow them to learn how to do it on their own. There’s plenty of time to rock and soothe when they are newborns. Once they are several months old, they need to start learning to self soothe. And no, they don’t need to eat in the night once they reach a certain age, usually around 6 months, but some babies are good with sleep and will not wake up to feed at a younger age. The last thing any parent wants is a toddler that is totally dependent on a parent to sleep and nap. Whether that be sleeping in general, or sleeping in their own bed and room.

I don’t have the heart to let my baby boy cry like that. New mothers are often told that once they’ve fed, burped and changed their baby, they should leave their baby alone to self soothe and cry because all their needs have been met. One day I hope all new mothers will smile confidently and say , “ I gave birth to a baby and not just a digestive system. My baby has a brain that needs to learn to trust and a heart that needs love. I will meet all my baby’s needs emotionally, mental and physical and I will respond to every cry because crying is communication not manipulation.”

Catalina Sima at this age they can’t get used to something yet. They just vocalize. I think around or over a year is when they get used to something. I’m a mom of a 19 month old too. She was born 2 months early, at 31 weeks and only 1kg. So it does really break my heart cause she has been through a lot but man, she is now using that to get her way in everything if I’m being honest😅 I of course try to make her understand right from wrong but at this age they still don’t understand much... I just can’t wait until she can speak and so she understands that all I’m doing is keeping her healthy, safe and guid her, that’s why certain things aren’t allowed.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I don't get how many parents can just act so much against the needs of their infants and their own instincts and do sleep training. A baby CAN not know that everything is allright and mommy is just next door. Sleep training is teaching your child to give up because nobody will listen to his calls for help. So cruel. Our son just sleeps next to us and we all get enough sleep although he doesn't sleep 11 hours straight.

My husband sleep trained our 3 month old baby. For nights I wasn’t getting any sleep. This eventually led me to be depressed and sleep deprived. I couldn’t get things done or be a mommy during the day like I wanted to, because I was so sleepy! She would wake up every 15-30mins from 12am -8am. However, after he sleep trained her , I was getting so much sleep. Of course, she woke up once during the night for a breastfeeding snack. Moreover, it didn’t create any weird connection between me and my baby. She’s 4 1/2 years old now, and we’re inseparable ❤️

My baby started sleeping 11-12 hours straight when she turned 3 months. I made sure that i started a routine when she was 1 month old. I did the same thing at the same time every night and it worked like a magic! I do: Bath time at 7 Made sure she’s well fed Turn on white noise Swaddle and dance her around for a bit until she fell asleep Then put her down in her bassinet I also make sure to give her a nap every 1 hour for an hour and that she’s well fed throughout the day. When she got a little older I started giving her naps every 2 hours for an hour to 1 1/2 hours. When she turned 6 months we moved her in her own room with the exact same routine except we stopped swaddling her at 4 months. Bath time Turn on white noise Milk time until full Dance her around Then put her down in her crib Let her fall asleep on her own Only time she wakes up is when she’s not feeling well but that’s once in a blue moon. She’s now 10 months and still sleeps 11-12 hours a night.

The only way I could ever let the baby "cry it out", is in the case the mom feels like she has had enough. When I say had enough, I'm meaning that she puts the baby in the crib and shuts the door to walk away from her baby so she doesn't lose it or hurt the baby, or maybe she needs a break. That's the only way I could ever do that. I'm a mother of two (a six, and now 4.5 week year old), I've had to walk away before, but I've never let my babies cry themselves to sleep and never will.

I think this is not true. But everyone can have their own opinion. I really wanted children, but that doesn’t mean i have to get them to sleep the whole day / night. My baby was 3 months old when i let her cry (ofcourse not super long). And i would go inside her room every time to calm her down, but she would fall a sleep in her own crib. It last for 1 month, and then she slept so good! Day.. and night. From 19.00-07.00. And over the day she slept really good as well. Because she knew how to sleep by her own and she knew her crib felt safe. I know parents that always get their babies to sleep, and now their older, and now they still have sleep problems with their child. I think that’s not good for the parents as well for the children. Because sleep is so important.
@schneeevchen
@schneeevchen 2 жыл бұрын
@@jaylo3678 you don't have to let your baby cry in order for it to learn how to fall asleep alone. My second son is 4 month now and he falls asleep in his own 90% of the time without me ever letting him cry,. It's much more work for the parents to do it cry free. I agree that sleep is so important for them. BUT developing basic trust is just as important. A baby that stops crying just gave up. It did not self soothe. But that's just my opinion.

Sure, my baby still wakes up 3-5x a night, but hey, she is breastfed, she needs to be comforted but that’s my role in her life, isn’t it? She first must be dependent to become independent in the end. I write down every time they eat and how much if breast feeding I write what breast and how long and if it’s formula I write how many oz. I also write down every diaper change, this helps figure out why they’re crying because at times it’s not hunger. Before bed I make sure I’ve given them their usual amount of formula and their diaper is changed and then slowly they’re full at night so they don’t wake up, it’s hard but usually by 1 month they’re sleeping from through the night, I let them pick their time though, my daughter was asleep by 7pm and my son who is 2 months now is midnight, slowly I’ll wake him during the day and change the hour but for now I just let him pick the time with his feedings. My baby has always been a good night sleeper but she falls asleep on the breast. I feel like she relies on me to fall asleep and for that reason only takes 10 minute naps during the day when I attempt to put her down she instantly wakes up. She's now almost 5 months old, should I wait longer to sleep train her? Last night I tried to for night 2 and didn't get much sleep and she threw up all over the place. She was legit waking up screaming every hour 😩 Am I trying to fix something that's not really broken?

Wow. This kinda look like a magic. Might wanna try this tho. I know its hard, frustrating taking care of babies. I have a 15 yr old kid and suddenly got pregnant again. I couldnt even remember his milestones. Its like im back to zero again on taking care of a baby. Its really really frustrating. But, these babies, they grow up so fast. All i can say is enjoy each moment you are with them coz SOMEDAY, its just gonna be YOU and YOUR partner. Your children will have their own lives. Just enjoy taking care of them, just have fun. P.s. My baby is now almost 3 months old and she takes a nap 4-5times a day. Wakes up 2-3 times at night. Frustrating but it gets easier. Remember, it shall pass. Just enjoy them while u can. ❤

I will say that my first child I didn’t sleep train because it was so hard and sad and she is 3 and STILL wakes up at least once through the night and I regretted not sleep training because I honestly felt like a zombie most of the time and felt like I couldn’t be the best mom because of my moodiness from not sleeping. So I sleep trained my second one and she sleeps like a dream, she sleeps better than my 3 year old lol and it only took like 3 days! No regrets here!

@zilbi20
@zilbi20 3 жыл бұрын
You need to stop feeding him at night. Try to do a "go to bed ritual" thet includes food, bath and a song . After thet when he wakes up at night, if he crys hold him in your arms. when he relaxes immediately put him in bed so he knows it's bed time. After thet when in bed if he still struggles, put your hand on him till he calms down.. it's important to hold him whenever he crys to get him to feel secure. When he calms down immediately lay him back in bed. We need to help our babies learn that they can get themselfes go back to sleep without a parent's help. If we help a baby too much, he can develop bad sleeping habits that he will be dependent on and will only get worse with time. It's important to note thst every change that you do, weather it's feeding at night or teaching him to sleep on it's own, it's must be done gradually. This advise is only good for 5 month old babies or older. Before that, a baby is too young to be able to go all night without food or learn how to sleep on it's own.

Our baby is 13 months old now and it’s been a journey. So naps at this point are still very much a week-to-week thing, some weeks there consistent 1hr plus long naps and others its 30-40 mins. Nights got a whole lot better once we did sleep training AND got baby out of our room into crib around 8 months. Baby sleeps through the night pretty consistently now. It does get better/manageable it just takes time which I know may be hard to hear. My only suggestion would be to start sleep training as soon as it’s recommended.

Cosleep. Do some research, this crap is cruel, is isn’t biologically or anthropological normal. Baby wants mum, it’s primitive, it’s instinctual, the baby knows what he’s doing. Cosleeping and SIDS is unrelated so don’t worry about that, Japan has the highest cosleeping rates in the world with the lowest SIDS rates in the world. They’re unrelated! Cosleeping, soothe and rock them, breastmilk has chemicals specifically to make your baby sleep, they’re meant to fall asleep at the breast.

So sleeping training is basically let your baby crying and screaming for hours until he is so tired of crying that he sleeps. Then next day he gives up amd now he knows you will not be there when he cries. I dont know, I have a little baby and he is struggling with the sleep, I want to do everything that it is possible to help him and also the mother. But to just let the baby crying does not seems right to me. And for those who say it does not affected the relation with the kid, that is not a good parameter. Even parents that abuse the kids are still loved sometimes by the kids, the child is dependent and cannot fully express himself. I don't want to judge anyone, only who is suffering and struggling knows the pain and I wish best of luck to everyone.

I don’t get it. Every time I put my baby to sleep he won’t fall into a deep enough sleep in the first place to even get to go to sleep for a little while. Nothing is working. If I don’t nurse him or hold him he won’t sleep in his bassinet. He naps fine during the day. But I don’t know if I need to shorten his naps or not or don’t nap at all. When I try to put him in the bassinet, the second his butt hits the bassinet he wakes up and cries and won’t stop until I pick him up and he won’t stop crying even if I stand over him rubbing his chest, he just won’t stop. My only option is to not sleep and nurse him. I tried to nurse and then read a book but he wasn’t awake enough to really care about it. And then I put him in the bassinet and the same thing happens- he won’t stop crying until I nurse or Rick him to sleep. Help I don’t get it. He’s almost 6 months old. With breastfeeding its the same don't let the baby fall asleep on the breast. When they wake go in every 10 minutes . You can extend the time to adding 5 minutes. For example 10. 15. 20. 25 minutes till they fall asleep. and try to avoid picking them up and rocking them back to sleep, they can become reliant on that. Being consistent is key

You co sleep. This is biologically normal for all humans. Babies know that they’re meant to be and sleep close to their mother, they’re following their correct instincts. I was breastfeeding for my little one. she sleep alone when she was born but couldn't sleep through night. For the first three months she woke up every three or four hours. When she was five months old, she woke up one or two times for milk but it was not every night to sleep through the night. After feeding the milk then she could straight to bed. It was really tired. She doesn't like bottle milk. I heard bottle milk can sleep longer than breastfeeding but she didn't like power milk. I try the power milk when she was eight or night months old I should have watched this in that time then I can try. My girl is 21months old now. Tonight it is the first time I tried to train her to sleep alone complete without milk and co-sleeping. I tried to get her straight to bed when she started eight months old few times. She crying until 1:00am still not go to sleep. I couldn't leave her like that. So I put her to her own bed after she felt in sleep with me. I thought I should wait for her a bit older then do it again. So tonight I tried. She was crying in the beginning. It was quick she felt in sleep after half an hour and went inside the covering. I hope she could sleep without crying and through the night. In the day her nap is between 12pm-14pm, or 15pm-17pm. She couldn't sleep the same time that is the problem. Hope I change the routine can help a lot.

To any parent doing this don't feel bad if you feel like you are neglecting your child you are teaching them and for those people that say this is neglect it is not just because the baby screaming doesn't mean he is in pain they scream like that because that all they know to do when they are hungry crappy or have a mild discomfort yes it hurts hearing your little one to cry or scream and our first instinct is to run to them and sooth them but if you want them to have better sleep and even eating habits to have to basically force them to be on a schedule and baby's are going to automatically get on a schedule but if you are consistent with a schedule for them like a feeding schedule and sleep schedule they do learn when they will be feed And when it their nap time but it hard for alot of parents because babies will want their milk when they want it and it ok to give it to them when ever they want it and it ok to let them sleep when they want to but than you can expect to be up all night with them to and if that randomness is to much for a parent than do a schedule but stick to it even if it hurts hearing them cry for you

This only works for older kids. My baby is 4 weeks and needs to eat every 3 hours. I just don’t know how to make him fall asleep, it takes hours and by that point it’s time to eat again. I’m dying
