New big garden area in former horse pasture. We had it fenced with 2” woven electric wire for horses. Now we need to keep deer and chickens out. Hoping to reuse the peeler poles and t stake existing posts, the soil here is very rocky. Our first attempt was kinda working with use of movement activated sprinklers. But a drought and some fallen trees brought us back to start again. The deer loved being in the pasture with the horses they are very habitual animals.

Will they ship to me? 😂😂😂 Very helpful and nice timing! Looking at the 2 acre place tomorrow and I think to make that work I'll need goats, sheep and poultry in one area which I don't think is fenced, and I think the veggie garden will be right next to them so it will need to be a bloody good fence!

I noticed baling twine tying fences together. Its strong but fails over time. I like using either heavy duty coated copper wire (14 gauge or less) or 10/2 romex wire as its pig strong and can be undone easily, like a giant twist tie.

That looks great and all but my 120 lb Anatolian Shepherd livestock dog leaped the fence with ease despite the same setup. He also outsmarted the invisible dog fence. At least he stays on the farm lol 😆

Well I like Pig panel for Pig it's the best thing I've used and she can't get out when it's fixed right. It's almost the same as cattle panel except it's got the smaller hose on the bottom and it's not as tall as cattle panel.

We've been running our pigs on a single hot line. They've respect the line so far. They will be going to camp in March and Im a little nervous with how they will respond in the snow.

I love using electric netting for my goats. Very rarely do I have escapees when it's hot. I use poultry netting for any pens with kids, and pos/neg sheep and goat nets out in the pasture.

Sorry, but I don't agree that larger grid spacing on alpacas is good. The 'field fence', with 6" grid at the top is big enough for alpacas to get their heads through. 18 years raising alpacas and had it happen before I switched to goat fencing. In large paddocks, it may be fine, but not in small paddocks or alleys and runs where there is more pressure or enticement on the other side. The 2x4 horse fence is best. And if you have males near females, a male can literally climb over a 4' high fence. I have seen a boy do it. He rears up, throws his front legs over the fence, jumps and slides his belly over. 5' high is better. And with alpacas, you are fencing predators out more than fencing them in. Always consider your local predators and how you will keep them away from your livestock. High tensile might keep them in, but does nothing to keep predators, especially local dogs, from getting in. And electric fencing doesn't work well with alpacas. Especially electric net fencing. Their fiber is a great insulator and they don't feel the shock for single line but can get tangled and young cria have died from getting tangled in the netting.
