Shooting for beginners! This video explains shotgun choke tubes and demonstrates how to use them. Watch as I provide insight regarding safe shotgun use and explain the function of screw in choke tubes. In this tutorial video, I explain how choke tubes work, how to install choke tubes, and then finish the video with a live fire demonstration. If you take the time to learn the basic concepts taught in this video, you will better understand which choke tubes to use while hunting and sport shooting.
For a gun, I used my Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon 3 (12 Gauge).
Ammunition used: Kent Cartridge Bismuth.

A couple finer points from a long term instructor..... 1) notches (or stars, or dots) on choke tubes is a generally European centric method of identification. Any gun with tubes made in or around Europe is likely going to be marked that way. 2) oil on choke tube threads is not the best solution unless you are changing them constantly. I've seen tubes put in with oil that were seized up after a gun was stored post season and not touched until the following season. A light anti-seize grease, or task specific choke tube lube is the best solution.
