The terminology in the video is outdated. It was decided by me that the new term for the ultimate version of Momentum Skitter should be called Momentum Pivot Skitter or MPS for short.
Some key notes I didn't include: Remember when that launch hand first grabs? The timing on that must be near perfect. Remember, we're trying to CONSERVE OUR MOMENTUM. If we fail to get that hand there to help pull that momentum forward and we also don't have the pivot hand pushing for the same purpose, you won't find good results. Also, that launch hand's placement is pre-meditated. We're placing it in a spot where it'll contribute most to the pull (towards the goal and in line with climber's center of mass). Additionally, the body trajectory IS ABSOLUTELY KEY. If you are not sending your climber's body in an ARC that gets his hands near the goal, then you're not doing it right. Do NOT merely send your climber STRAIGHT towards the goal in most cases (although it did work here). Try to send your climber's body towards the spot where you know his hands will be able to do the rest for you (usually someplace slightly to the side and higher than the target). If that makes no sense, then you'll have to figure it out. The body trajectory MUST give our climber the best ARC he can get. Remember, there's gravity. He will start to fall. Preparing for that IN YOUR SWING is also absolutely necessary. IT ALL STARTS IN THE SWING AND LAUNCH.
Lastly, INITIAL HAND PLACEMENT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THINK.
Let me explain: Momentum Skittering heavily benefits from going for height over horizontal distance. This is exaggerated heavily by pivot skittering (a strategy I haven't mentioned here). You might've noticed that my hands in the video ARE NOT ON THE ROCK'S PEAK. That is ON PURPOSE because Momentum Skittering in this very specific example (all jumps are different) benefits from being closer to the wall since there's a gap that we can't grab ice on. This obviously makes sense due to the fact that our LAUNCH hand is extremely important in conserving our momentum DIRECTLY after launch.
From Adni - My fellow ice pioneer and friend who discovered this movement tech with me: "yo thats not that bad, pretty accurate breakthrough of it, with the slowmo too, nice, I think thats probably the most detailed you can go to explain it to someone thats watching a video. There isn't much else that can help other than they actually trying it." He's not wrong. Get out there and start practicing this movement tech asap!
1st Song is celeste B side or something i forget.
2nd Song is Enchanted Love by Linear Ring. Beautiful song.
