I did not know that this mechanism can do that??!! Wow glad no one was hurt..I bought a house that has 2 bathrooms and each of the toilet tank has one..One was leaking maybe switch to a regular flush tank... thanks for the info...

The earliest versions of the Sloan flushmate had to be recalled for that. If your too scared of pressure assist toilets or you find them too noisy, and want a clog proof toilet, consider getting a Champion toilet. There is much bigger chance of a pressure assist toilet sending your feces up the vent pipe and on to your roof and back flow into nearby drains including the sink and shower then the vessel rupturing. What causes pressure assist toilet vessels to rupture is if the water supply pressure is more than 65 psi, putting a bleach and/or bluing tablet inside the pressure vessel, or a very rare manufacturing defect.

the newer ones are not recalled like these, you can also get a kit which prevents it from breaking the porcelain if it does ever explode.

I don't think so. If you think about it, a plastic vessel that is constantly under pressure will probably not last very long.

Trust me it’s not fake, there’s still people getting severely injured and even unalived from ones that are still recalled that haven’t been replaced

@@NyxKemoinjured yes, but I haven’t heard any cases of someone being killed by an exploding flushmate
