I commented this elsewhere but if they used glue to apply the mixture to just the tip of the dart would it be possible to get it to feed and ignite more reliably?
@FireheartIndustries3 жыл бұрын
@@gman1515 the biggest issue is the diameter of the barrel. It's actually pretty snug so that it gets a proper seal and the air can push the dart better. Adding tape around the dart would have made it more difficult to feed and fire reliably. I haven't made Armstrongs mixture myself, and I've certainly never heard of anyone mixing glue into it, so I have no idea what that would do.

I did something similar when I was a kid. 1. cut of 6 dots worth of paper cap gun ammo 2. fold it lengthwise so the dots "burst" 3. fold it into a tightly packed roll so it snugly fits in the barrel of an air gun then apply one tiny amount of clear office tape to hold it together. 4. insert it into the barrel. 5. do the exact same thing again but this time without the tape, insert it after the taped one in the barrel. 6. Close the barrel and fire. The friction of the barrel will set off the naked "pellet" on the way out while the taped pellet will burst on impact making a very satisfying "double bang". It is loud but not powerful enough to be dangerous. The amount of powder is very well controlled (exactly 6 dots is the amount I arrived at after trial and error).

One of the reasons the Aeon Pro can shoot 140 FPS is its tight dart fit. Having a barrel that perfectly fit to the darts is key to proper acceleration. So, when theres tape all around, it pushes against the dart barrel too much, gets jammed in the breech, and then leaves gaps for air to pass through

You have to prime the aeon pro and then take the mag in and out. Also the bigger mag release will take just the half dart mag out and not the adaptor as well. The tape on the dart makes the barrel fit too tight, the Aeon has a tight barrel fit normally so the tape will just cause it to stick in the barrel. You need another way to attach the mix, like double sided tape just on the thumb tack... Would probably work everytime if you did that.

you need to make sure it's compressed enough between the tape and the nerf head. try this cut a small foil strip and put a dot of mix in the middle and fold up the foil so it is compact and plat where you can just feel a lump that is the mix then tape or glue that to the tip of the nerf the foil provides enough pre-compaction and when you fire it will ignite via contact friction. :)

So. One of the big reasons for most of the failed fire attempts is improper usage of the blaster itself. When you were taking the magazine in and out you did not open up the breech (half prime the blaster) which caused you to push to dart further into the magazine ad well as hurt the mag. During your breech loading attempts you put the dart into the barrel and not the breech. Attempt one would have worked if the blaster had been used properly. Hope this helps!

Take the circle caps from the revolver style cap guns. Cut the rings apart so you have the plastic "cups". Then you can load those into air powered pellets. The air pressure is not strong enough to pop it in the barrel but will pop on contact.

As someone who works a bit with NERF guns I can say for sure the dart not coming out was the tape most of the time. I would recommend cutting down the tape before putting it on to make it a tighter fit. Basically making a pad on the tip without wrapping it too much.
@stealy96083 жыл бұрын
hey, two things: you can take just the small magazine out by hitting the big lever on the blaster and it loads alot easier if you pull the priming grip back before you put the magazine

If you want to secure the mixture onto the end of the dart maybe better, you could put seran wrap over the end instead of the tape, and put the tape around the 'barrel' of the dart, so it's not getting thicker, but it'll be just as secure, if not definitely more

The foam explodes due to the air pressure. As soon the bullet comes out the barrel, it explodes before it is fully out, making the bullet tumbling, forming a wing . Duck tape makes the tube stronger. Now we need ether to create the same effect. Pvc tube homebuild rifle, shoots bullets to pieces with high pressure.
@zeddez33423 жыл бұрын
I think the idea with the thumbtack backwards is that you would make a blast cap and put it inside the nerf dart. That way the energy transfer of hitting a hard target would detonate it and you wouldn't have to put tape on the dart making it near impossible to shoot the gun.
