The best info Matthew gave out was at the very end with his (-EV) take on not taking too much stock in the application of the success stories you may study as it would apply to your own situation and goals but that greater information can be taken from the abundant list of failures and collapses, being as they hold the greater truths.

Easy to build a F1 car, easy to book NBA all day without turning customers down. Always easy to book if you have never dealt with the endless arbers/trademate/steam chasers, in practice things rarely work out as well as they do in theory.

Bit misleading on the computation / moat part. Player scale doesn't affect computations you can scatter+gather or fan out results of in a way that builds a moat for the big books. They're not hard issues to solve. The real problem is there's very little high level technical skill in sportsbetting platform provider dev teams because a) it's not a high wage industry for that kind of job yet and b) it's an unfashionable industry to be in.
