The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in Oman, located in the capital city of Muscat. In 1992, the then Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Said al Said, directed that his country should have a Grand Mosque. Construction commenced in 1994, and it took six years and seven months to build the mosque.

A month ago I spent two days in Muscat for a business trip. I am a Christian orthodox, but I was stunned with the beauty of the Omani mosques and especially Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. I regret I didn't have the chance to visit it and see all of this beauty with my eyes, but I'm thankful we have such awesome videos showing how stunning it looks. And one day when I definitely come back to Oman I'll go and visit it, and other stunning places there too.

I went there in 2019, arrived late, after 11am, I asked the security guards if I could take some photos outside. They said I could go inside for 10 minutes before the worshippers came in. Amazing place and amazing people. Thank you to the security guys
