If you like the outdoors, I’d suggest Savannas Preserve, great biking and one of the few remaining places with scrub jays. Scrub jays look a lot like blue jays, but they’re more curious and social with humans. They’re also endangered now, so seeing one is a gift. If you off-road bicycle, Jonathon Dickinson park is awesome.

Port Saint Lucie has the HIGHEST PROPERTY TAXES in the STATE by far!! Buyer beware! Homes ranging $450k will cost you $10,284.39!! In property Tax Annually!! Do your research, many other affordable areas in FL.

thank you for your comment. While St Lucie County does have high property taxes, if you file for florida homestead tax exemption it will dramatically bring down your taxes if you claim as your primary residence. Another thing that helps with the taxes if if you have owned a house in another county in florida you can apply for portability of your taxes.

@@kodysmama You should wait, prices are just beginning to drop, the lower the price, the lower the Taxes. Port Saint Lucie has the Highest Property Taxes in the State!

Just bought a couple of days ago at a dropped price so I’m happy about that. I know the taxes are high but not as high as where I am in NY.

@@kodysmama Yeah but where you lose is the Property Insurance and Car Insurance it is much higher in FL…But, if that works for you, good 👍.

Thank you for letting me know. I will work on slowing down in future videos- being raised in a big city like Chicago I tend to talk faster than I realize! Port St Lucie is simply a gigantic housing development which was terribly planned, yet has a population of 250,000. There are barely any roads to handle the crush of traffic. One crash will bring gridlock. There are barely any bike lanes, and multiuse trails are nonexistent. There is no downtown area at all! There is no culture. The cost of living is sky high.
