I'm over for 4,000 miles away in the middle of the night, watching you walking through this house when we no you should not be there and you are putting me on the edge of my seat. I'm expecting someone to walk in. Every turn of the camera , someone stood there watching you. Great filming , documentary making. It's like I am there with you, beats any late night ghost movie. Regards 🇬🇧 uk.

What a beautiful place. It’s a shame how houses go abandoned that could be fixed up for someone who has never owned a home.

That’s an amazing place. Lady had a great life. I hate when all y’all guys miss the whole point of the lady. She was way into art. Vintage. And mostly France. Everything screams French provincial. Her beautiful photography. The black and white cat book of photos was a total photo project. People started painting furniture big time about ten yrs ago. So people have been in there living. Maybe family gathering things to take. Amazing find ❤

Right. Calling her a crazy cat lady 🤦 No way did cats live in that house with all those fragile collectables and wallpaper. The cat photos were photography projects. Photography was obviously a passion of hers.

If I wanted to explore an old house but felt someone was living there; I'd knock on the door, explain who I was and what I wanted to do. They'd probably give permission. It's so rude and also dangerous to walk inside a house where someone could be living.

That little offside room upstairs may have once been a nursery & might be curtained off to save energy, plus cold might come down from that attic door or possibly heat rises out. I grew up in the 1960’s & 1970’s & keeping heating costs low was paramount in those days

This lady had charmingly exquisite taste. I love this home. Today modernity is cold, heartless, banal and ugly. This home was filled with love and is sacred. So one must feel as an intruder. May i suggest you leave a single rose upon exploring such another sacred place. FYI!: the second ad took your video hostage. There was no skip button and it went on forever! Not just 5 minutes!!! But way longer!

One thing I conclude from almost every exploration video I view.. we ALL have WAY TOO MUCH much of a sentimental attachment to extra sh&t we don’t need,and most people can’t or don’t care about it after we are gone ! Note to self: Downsize to being a minimalist!! lol!
@kina1811 күн бұрын
As long as the person enjoys their things whilst they're alive, makes no difference if anyone wants them once they're gone. Families should donate things tho instead of leaving it all to rot. I'd just place a sign outside, free stuff, help yourself.

I'm going to assume, that for purposes of artistic license, you actually had permission to be in this house. Because, if not, they call this breaking and entering in my neck of the woods. You claim there were lights on in the "guest house" and we come to find that the guest house is actually a separate part of the same house. So did you make your way into a house that you knew, or strongly suspected, was occupied? The fact there is electricity on in parts of the house and evidence of it being occupied, or at least visited, within the last year I can only ask why you think you have a right to be in there? Maybe the owner is in a nursing home and the property has a caretaker who comes in once in awhile. Maybe the owner died and the extended family are tied up administering an estate. This activity, besides being criminal, is extremely disrespectful and dangerous for your sake and the sake of anyone who might come upon you snooping around and looking through someone's possessions. Going through an abandoned amusement park or a dead mall is one thing but entering a likely occupied house that has an abandoned section is something else completely. It's downright shameful.

Seems like she lived frugally in this house for a long time; perhaps passing only recently. The was she hung up wallpaper with nails to beautify the rooms is unique. She kept beds for relatives to come and stay, covered with sheets to keep them dust free. Maybe she even grew up in the house. Love your storytelling and your voice. Appreciate how you respect the past. Too much of transient life these days will destroy our heritage. Thanks RR.
@spongebobsqueeze7 ай бұрын
There is nothing weird about it. This is a 1800s house that was obviously multi generational. Thus the incredible amount of stuff and the odd reassignment of room divides. At one time that house had very large rooms It was never remodeled or updated timber walls and filled fireplaces that were at one time its only source of heat. The curtains everywhere are to prevent drafts and keep heat in or out of the smaller made rooms rooms. Looking at all of the old photographs it looks like a very large family with the home left to a unmarried daughter to keep and maintain while everyone else just went on with their lives. Likely there is some kind of caretaker.

People can do whatever they like but I did don't understand the selfishness of some of them. Sometimes, I'm sure it maybe a legal reason places are abandoned but I know people who own nice homes and also own homes left to them by relatives. They won't even let you rent the homes,why? Give somebody else a chance to own something. The dead is gone but hopefully, you have good memories. I asked my own sister to let me rent her old house. Of course she said, my husband says, its bad news to do business with relatives. But the house didn't belong to him. Now they both have passed on n could have given me a chance to be a home owner. Don't judge me. I am a hard worker and I am not looking for a hand out. But I have known some selfish people that could have made someone life better. Thank you

"Possessions we Acquire hold little to true value in the end"- FR this is a legacy and even more so a time capsule of a well enjoyed life. Love comes and goes but inanimate objects are what is left, as a reminder as times goes by. possessions are the greatest things a human can own its the meaning when that person looked at the object and remember something special a time very personal that maybe no one will never understand, i was very lucky to Acquire inanimate objects i am my grandparents, they show me and speak to me about a golden age. This is what is left to remember and to the unbeliever you seem very close minded, to the memories of a legacy.

It's a great find. I have to say I am very suspicious of the house. Like if he drove by and there were lights on say in one part that means some is around. Thing is, if the place still has HYDRO then it has to be coming from somewhere. One thing he should have done is maybe steaked out the house overnight from the other side of the road. It's possible squatters are using the one part of the home that has lights that work. So by watching the house over night he could see if someone was coming by. Like watching for a car. Before exploring the house, if it was me I'd look for a vehicle. If I found one, I'd be checking not only if it was in good working order but how old. Like if it looked like it was a newer modern day vehicle with a display screen then I'd be very leery someone might be living in it. If it was an older car and say with flat tires and the engine (if visible) looked jammed due to not being run in a long time then I wouldn't be as leery.

Behind the small door next to the fireplace was likely a beehive oven/cooking storage. The larger door was probably another staircase that could have led behind the bed upstairs. This house seems like it's owner was put in a care home, or relatives are looking after it after she passed. There's also an old letter from the Army for an honorable discharge, that was probably her husband who likely passed long before her.
