She kept a very lovely home. The furniture placement, the decor, the lovely children's room. She can be very proud that she made a beautiful place for herself and for her family. I hope that she taught her children to play piano. I hope that her grandchildren loved to visit, I hope that her husband always walked into the door with a smile on his face, I hope that Christmas was always full of laughter and I hope that she always had a pie or cake and coffee available for guests.

The young girl was an artist at a young age and was allowed to draw furniture placement on her walls. She had many stuffed animals and very nice paintings of the family All thru out the house that are gone now, obviously after the Bros of Decay went thru and filmed it in much better condition - everything disappeared. That's what happens when these videos are posted.

@kimnkruzin that's definitely sad, but it also makes me feel like it gives those objects more life to live and more time to be loved with another family. My heart feels like that's better than decaying, unseen and forgotten .

There is away to have power without meter. Electric co just did my house, almost burnt my house down from their problfem. Guy removed meter said power is on them and they would calll. I videoed him telling me couldn't be charged. It was real, free power fix all the problem they caused.

2 weeks ago another vodeo was posted, it showed jewelry in that girls artsy bedroom, LOTS of paintings and old lamps, dolls and stuffex animals, 2 pcs on the china cabinet missing, peacock feathers were IN tbe vase, the piano WAS FULL of photo frames, old books in cabinets, the history of the place story was told... SO there were MANY MANY more antiques in this place prior to this video... very sad the disrespect of people.. Even this dude could put stuff back not just pull letters out and leave them on the floor. Calling a families pictures ugly?? Oh- that whistle on the couch, WAS in a bedroom on a hanger with a jacket embroidered JHM. So, someone between the 1st video and this one, ransacked what they could carry. You decide. But family will not be happy. Saddens me

Hi, great video. The hay on the sofa is actually what it was stuffed with. Old upholstered furniture was stuffed with hay and horsehair. I inherited my grandparents’ set and had it restored. It was filled with hay. No synthetic materials back in the day.

Seeing stuff like this makes me want to get rid of all my stuff because we are all going to leave here one day and everything that we have at that moment will be left behind. I hate the thought of someone rummaging through all my stuff. Yes, I remember A&P and I'm from Louisiana. But gosh....I feel so sad for that poor lady who lived there and was writing her friends about how lonely she was. How sad is that?! Her children lived nearby and were busy with their "own" families. That really sucks because your mother doesn't stop being family once you start having kids. If you don't model for your children that you maintain relationships with parents, etc., don't expect your own children to grow up and bother with you. Really sad. Hope the lady who once lived there is resting in peace ♥

All that movie/tv memorabilia stuck to the fridge and laid out on various tables with white table clothes makes me think they had a yard sale of sorts. Someone in the house collected I love Lucy items and Leave It To Beaver souvenirs. Those items are from the early 1950s. I would say the furniture is from the 1940s. Some of my "up to date" family members had very similar furnishings in the mid 1950s when I was 4-5 years old.

Hi Rick and Steve Ronan, Rick, the 101 Dalmatians was released in 1961, which isn't that long ago and the remastered version was released in 1996. the one on the table was the original. There maybe a few wild peacocks in the area. No peacocks died or there would be more than just feathers every where in the living room. Because it is in one of the first rooms as you walk in my guess is these peacocks have either mated in the house and sought out refuge from the winter months. Peacocks actually shed their tail feathers every year and with each passing year more feathers get shed. Feathers are only needed to display to impress a peahen after the mating season end the tail feathers fall out on their own. Peacocks are very loyal to their mates. that is why there is peacock feathers every where. The peacock usually come back to their nesting sites i believe which is again why there are so many feathers on the floor. The Rugs are the genuine wool rugs if i was to hazard a guess i would say they were from the 1800-1930's some of them are oriental rugs by the patterns on them. others are more than likely Persian or Middle Eastern rugs. they will be quite valuable. The stuff on the couch is from the inside of the couch. Couches were filled with a material called hessian which is like a straw based material then the coloured fabric would be put on the top of it. the couched were not built for comfort just functionality back then. the house was probably built in the 1700-1800 probably early to late 1800's The picture of the house as it once looked before nature took over. My guess is the person who lived in the house her husband was probably in the military, as he was away a lot, or a sales men of some sort. They were pretty well off considering the furniture and the rugs in the house. Be careful of the dust in these old houses, there isn't much mold in the house from what i have seen but the paint on the walls peeling could contain lead or other toxic substances. I don't know why you explorers always have to open up fridges or freezers. do you realize how much mold spores come in contact with you when you open the fridge doors or the doors to freezers especially if there is stuff still in there like this one did. it is in the region of thousands. I wouldn't want you to have any health issues please wear a mask if you must do that ideally you should be wearing a mask in old houses any ways, it or without furniture in them. The dead possum on the floor isn't the healthiest place to be either. Safety first guys please for your own safety. Please be careful both of you. You are our historians in a way. safety first always please.

The youngest daughter is still alive and is a well-known author. I believe the father managed a cotton mill and died in 1954 . The mom died in 1999. I'm wondering who lived in the house from 1999 to 2009 or even later ?

That tv is worth thousands of dollars i seen one sell for $65 k ❤ The furniture is worth thousands of dollars 😊❤ The furniture is so rare that i advice you to remove it all asap or it will never be seen for another person to own it to show the world and museums will display it i seen furniture worth thousands of dollars in this house! I seen a table bring almost six hundred thousand dollars that looked like one of the tables i seen in this video ❤ This stuff is almost completely gone now this is very rare furniture 😊 Whoever owned this house had to die without anymore of their family members still alive causes anyone with a heart a brain would have never left anything inside the house at all it’s all rare priceless ❤

#RangerRick, the TV is a highly collectable called a PREDICTA (PRE-DIC-TA). NEW SUB HERE, I FOLLOW YOUR BUD STEVE, SO I'M SURE I'LL LOVE YOUR CHANNEL. OLE STEVE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY ME! Let me say, it's so refreshing to see an explorer that's versed on things in these houses. Those young'ns hiccup when it comes to knowing old things! Lol! Great content, much love and respect from Alabama! ❤

Am I right that lamps were on in a couple of scenes? Meaning there's still working electricity??? Who would be paying the bill for this old decaying relic? And if someone is willing to pay for electricity why not salvage some of the valuable items. Curious.....

I noticed that too and I believe in a different video of this house someone mentioned they used flashlights to make it look like the lamps were on.

It didn't have any power. We just put our own lights inside the lamps to make it look more eye catching. 👀

Someone needs to contact the owner of that home and see if they can buy those antiques.

Hello Ranger Rick. Just a few minutes in on this video and I knew I had to subscribe so I did. I can’t wait to watch your other videos. I appreciate the beauty of these older homes and the antiques although it’s such a shame all this is left behind and forgotten. The Predicta tv was made between 1958-1960. This is the Myers house. It was built in the 19th century. The Myers left in the 1980’s.
