This classic car junkyard has tons of awesome muscle cars and American iron. I think bringing Carlee along will be a tradition, as she seemed to really enjoy the day of looking at old cars in the woods. This was the ultimate daddy daughter date!
The junkyard we visit is part of Charlie's Used Auto Parts. Charles Fisher actually has two junkyards in Rhea County, one for new cars and one for old cars. The new car stuff doesn't excite me very much, but hundreds of old cars stashed away in the woods is always cool to see.
Along the way, we see rotted muscle cars and classic cars, including a 1967 Camaro Rally Sport, 1968 Chevelle, 1957 Chevy Nomad, lots of Mopars (including Barracuda, GTX and Challenger) as well as some classic Ford Torinos. One of my favorites was a Pontiac dirt track race car that still has its quick change rear end intact. Lots of trucks, lots of heavy duty American iron, all situated on a backroad in Southeast Tennessee. Oh, and there were some goats as well.
Follow along with our daddy daughter date at the classic car junkyard!

Your daughter will probably remember that day for the rest of her life. I have fond memories of my father telling me on Friday nights, "if you get up early tomorrow, I'll take you to the diner and then to the junk yard to pull some parts." This was back in the 70's and I still remember those trips. I used to marvel at all the dusty and greasy parts stacked in the junk yard offices. You could barely move around to get to the counter. There were no computers back then. If you needed a part, the guy would describe where in the yard he recalled last seeing a particular car. The good old days.

Carly is so comfortable in front of the camera, "We're lost!! Hellllllp!" lol What a little ham! Seeing the two of you on your car-date really made my morning! Then I almost cried when I saw that white Challenger. I had a '70 Challenger 440+6 shortly after high school, kept it for a few years, joined the Army and had to sell it when I was assigned to Germany. Never had another car that ran like that one.

At the time my daughter was 11 years old . I have been working on my 1928 chevy pu for a while . everytime i would start it up it scared her, and she did not want to ride in it . Well one day I had to get parts for my work truck, and we had to drive the 28 to the auto parts store. After a few minutes she would see people waving and smiling as we drove by. And the look on her face when i pushed the gas peddle down made the biggist smile I'v ever seen on her face. She loves it now. Always include her with all I do now. A memory for the both of us. Family first.

I can remember walking through old junk or wrecking yards just as you and your daughter just did, but I did it in the early 1970s. My first car was a 63 Nova SS and I remember there were no aftermarket part suppliers for that car then as there are today. The only place I remember finding aftermarket parts was a JC Whitney catalog and my local Western Auto store. Some of those cars that I saw in my early junkyard adventures were my high school friends first cars that went to an early grave because of a lack of aftermarket parts but mostly high insurance rates and the Arab oil embargo made these cars impractical. I sold off a 1969 Chevelle Malibu far to early because of gas and insurance cost. But today, I am the proud owner of a beautiful built 1970 Chevelle SS clone that I am very proud off. And today, I do not have to search through junk yards for parts for this car, I simply drive to Summit and get any part for that car. Driving to Summit, or the many stores like that, is not quite as nostalgic as a junk yard, but it is far more practical for me. And I almost forgot to say, I really admire what you are teaching your daughter. She will grow into a very special lady because of the time you are spending with her.

I love the old junk yards that r about faded away! My son would go with me on Sat. mornings to get breakfast at my favorite eating place, not Mickey D's. Lol from there it was to the junk yard for an all day excursion of pulling parts an mostly just looking at all the cool cars, an trucks. By the time we got home we were both greasy and smell like oil, rust an rat urine from the interiors. We had to strip at the door or we couldn't get in the house, haha. Straight to shower next. We both could hardly wait till next Sat. for junk yard visit. Times I will never forget an sure my son won't either. I'm almost 72 yrs old, an most of these cars I probably owned one at some time or other. I enjoy your channel an I'm a new suscribed, an glad I found you. Keep em coming. Peace n Love, I'm outta here.

My dad told me about a junkyard near Laredo Airforce base in Laredo Texas around 1955 that he used to rummage around in. He said there was literally rows upon rows of model A and Model Ts in this thing. He want back around 1965 and his heart just dropped as the yard was no longer there. Upon asking a few people he learned some investor had bought out the entire contents of the yard to resell, or restore. He never could figure out who though! Myself, I’ve restored old Pontiacs the last 40 years, mainly GTOs and firebirds. One of my favorite cars in my stable is a 69 Factory all original 428 4 speed Bonneville Wagon I picked up around 1985 from the original owner down the street for $500 with a bad clutch. Ugly front end, but Just something about that makes you grin when driving it! LOL

Back in the 70’s and 80’s when my daughter was around that age I worked sixty to seventy hours a week. There was one summer that I had Saturdays off and I got to spend them with my daughter. Those Saturdays are something we both still remember to this day. We didn’t really do anything special other than hang out together and I wouldn’t trade anything for that time. There is nothing like a dad and daughter relationship

Very cool video with your daughter. I used to take my twin boys to every car show/swapmeet and vintage wrecking yard we could. They are official car nuts now. When they aged out and got jobs which made it difficult for them to attend, my daughter took over. Just got back from the big Swap Meet in Turlock California today. My daughter loves going and my boys really appreciate the great times we had in the past. They always tell me that being older has given them a new appreciation for the car shows and they tell me that they wish they could go back and do it all over again. Me too. Those were the best times.

You wonder about memories you may be creating, mine are fantastic! I remember cars, colors engine sizes and interiors cars and trucks but memories with family involved and even a # of his employees and some of their family. My daughter is 21 and just got married . When she was your daughter's age , and for a few years following , I would take her with me on all sorts of little goofy trips . I would take her to a junkyard when I needed something or she would be with me when I'd go junk pickin . I thought the funnest thing for her was when we always stopped at Sonic or Dairy Queen to get a treat on the way home . She stopped going with me around the age of ten . She had her friends and such . She started doing girl stuff and that's perfectly fine with me . When she was in high school on a Saturday I was going to pick up a parts car I bought and she asked if she could go . I said HECK YEAH . During that little outing we talked and talked . She told me that she really liked doing all that stuff with me when she was little and she had fun being with me . I never thought she thought much of it . Long story short , keep your kids involved like you're doing whether you have a girl or boy or both . They will surprise you with what they remember and probably thank you on day out of the blue for spending time with them . And yes on that later trip we got ice cream . LOL

Carlee is a precious gem. A one of a kind daddies girl, don't get me wrong as I'm sure mommy is important too. I had more girls than boys and they would crawl under trucks with me and hold a flashlight and that is special time. I built everything but a family and I wound up being a step dad to several kids.... everyone of them were mine, blood or not and they did love me, moms... not so much. After a while was the see ya around! That really hurt and I finally figured out it was me, not them. I wasn't raised in a home, just two alcoholics that tolerated each other till they just didn't and then they cussed at each other for years till they gave up on that and that was in my tool shed so I never learned ... But kids make life worth living I love trucks more than cars. I saw the cabover and about drooled on myself. I love old wreckers and once they hit the yard, you know they are worn out but if there is a chance to fix , I will cause I know diesel and I can run torches .... I can weld anything and it also looks good. I will watch short/long and anything you show

Great yard those are getting harder to find these days i kind of disagree with you onthe Daddy Daughter Days my Daughter is 34 now with a family of her own and she still talks fondly about a school trip i chaperoned on with her elementary school ! one of my memorable outings with just her and I was looking at College Campuses together too BTW you also have a very Adorable Daughter she talks like she is way older than she looks you should buy her a new set of Rubber “ JunkyRd boots that she can tuck her pants in to get thru those Briars easier I agree with you on the old Torino’s too

It was surprising how many of the cars were mostly complete. Many years ago, people would junk a car that only needed simple repairs...worked out well for the junkyards! They could pick and sell off of those cars for years.

Hello Mate! :) (IMPORTAND, it's about Time Code 7:05, i need your Help PLEASE) So great! I saw that Video about this amazing old car junk yard now and I think my comment fits better to that Video! I Hope it's not a Problem for you that the follow text i wrote you under another Video too... It fits better to this Video, because at Time Code 07:05 is the car what is the same like the one what i'm restoring with my 70 years old father.... And I really really hope you would help me PLEASE... :) I'm a Car Guy from Germany & new at your Channel! At 1st I saw the Video with you & your Dad about the burried '55 Chevy, that was very nice! I wish i live at USA, because my heart ist pumping for US classic cars (OK also for new US Cars like a Dodge Charger or something else with an classic american V8! ;)) But i've a heart for junked classic cars, a thing what you could not find at Germany because there is a bad "Recycling Mafia" what closed all yards decades ago & put all the nice vintage cars to the crusher..too sad, what a crime! :( But at USA I know about junk yards with tousands of classic cars and I love it! If i live at USA i'm sure i would go to the yards to get junked classics to restore it for projects...to safe more of the amazing American Motor history! The history of the "Big 3" is one of the most interesting things for me. It's not importand for me if a car is a Ford, a Chevy, a Buick, Olds, or a Mopar... It's importand for me that it's an american classic car, at best of the 1950-1970s because that's my favorite aera. I'm 34 and still in the moment i'm restoring a 67 Chevy Caprice 4 Door Hardtop with a 327 4bbl 275hp Smallblock, 12 Bolt, TH400, Hijackers and i loves especially the 4 Door Hardtop Bodystyle without the B-pillar/pillar between the doors! That's an so amazing Styling and Design i think! I'm restoring the whole car only with my 70 years old father. & at the Timecode is the same car, and i'm looking for the BUMPER GUARDS & SIDE MOULDINGS(IMPALA) ..and something more. But also new Parts. At Timecode 12:00 is also a '67 Impala 4 Door Hardtop, with the Side mouldings what i'm looking for. but the one at 7:03-05 has also the Side trim mouldings too! :) If you could/would not help me by yourselfe, do you could give me an e-mail Adresse of the Yard please????? I'm also intetested in the whole car at 07:03... But also only the parts could Help me sooo much at my father son Project. I hope you will help me PLEASE I also found & imported my car by myself from Ohio USA to Germany, Bavaria. The only part of the Restoration what i'm not doing with my/our own hands is the paintjob. But we rebuilded all the wheel arches at the fenders, also the lower windshield frame &&& all in handmade Sheet Metal work ("Cuban Style" ;D Only with hammer, welder, grinder & our own hands) so we safed both front fenders, because to get used parts of the body of an '67 fullsize Chevy at germany is an very very difficult thing... Now i'm looking for some new & also used parts for my 67 Chevy Caprice/Impala 4 Door Hardtop... And I thought to ask YOU, If you could help me to get the parts what I need for it.. PLEASE? :) Because it was great for me to get the most of the parts for it in one shipment. About shipping i've good conections to an friend who is shipping cars and parts between US &germany. i could ask hin for help about shipping if this is a problem for you..? I need parts like an new carpet, frontend coil springs, headliner, front-&rearend bushings, & some more new parts. Also used parts like Bumper Guards, or some trim mouldings or something else like that.... Do you think you could Help me about, PLEASE? I Hope you'll to hear from you, and also to see Videos here at YT about your projects and also about so amazing thinhs like the burried '55 Chevy! ;) THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Best wishes & greetings from Germany, Bavaria Cheers Till PS Your daughter is very sweet, i hope she would be go to be a car girl and will help you with your cars & projects :)
