It's that time of year again if any of you know me and many of you do winter exploring is my favorite time of year to explore the crunching of snow and the cold air makes exploring these abandoned structures that much more exciting.
This nice little white house sits on a large property with farmland as far as the eye can see. The two-story structure has been abandoned for six or seven years and I passed by frequently. I've stopped by before but it was locked up tight and if any of you know me I don't break into places I simply enter where access is available.
I think it's safe to assume that this property is slated for redevelopment and will be gone soon as other houses in the area have also been identified for this purpose I don't know a lot of history about the house but it certainly has beautiful features like casings handrails banisters that show that a lot of work went into making this house a home. on the first floor, I did find it interesting that the bathroom and seemed to be in a public room but I could be wrong it might just be a large washroom but I don't think so.
I always wondered about the windows above interior doors and did they used to be really large doors or was it a form of ventilation for the house?
So many beautiful wooden doors in the house it's a shame to see such beautiful features end up in a landfill.
Like most of the old houses that I explore, hundred years plus, the basement is like something out of a horror movie but I never avoid going down if it's safe to do so because I know how much everybody likes to join me going into the belly of the Beast. All joking aside some of the best finds are in the basement like the very best electrical panel and concrete washbasin in this basement.
