On this episode Katie and I set out to explore a small island off the coast of Australia in a tropical storm. With a ton of river crossings, the local crocodile population is a concern!

I am from here. You shouldn’t be worried about crocs on land, even in shallow fast flowing water it should be fine to swim. I would mainly watch for snakes lol.

Being from Florida that kinda looked like my world. We don't have a lot of crocs, but I'm assuming gators behave a lot alike. Not very dangerous on land and don't usually inhabit clear, fast moving waters. Ethier way, that was quite an adventure with the weather and the swamps. Nice!

Crocs are not like alligators. They are dangerous in water and very dangerous on land. They can lunge 4m in .25 of a second. That’s 12m/s. You simply cannot get away fast enough if you are within their strike range and they can run pretty quickly too.

Epic hike, looks like a lot of fun. Pretty cool seeing your Trangia cooker. I have had one in my truck for years.

Looks similar to the Florida Everglades, minus the mountains. Yes, No water excursions at night.

I think you’ll find the highest mountain in QLD is Bartle Frere not one on Hinchinbrook. You said biggest though so I’m not sure if you mean size or height.

Who would know about crocs in QLD? Les Hiddens might! But then from the crocs perspective you're the 'bush tucker'.

Really not that many yet - maybe 10 total. Soon it will be thousands once we really get into croc territory.

Only 40 at a time. Don't want the crocks being overfed and getting fat.
