That church was Pentecostal Holiness Church of Daniels. I lived there as a child til 6th grade. The church was under the railroad tracks. I lived in a row house . Victorian duplexes on the other side before the church. My dad and anyone who lived in the homes worked at the mill.We all got out in time before the flood. There is still a church on the other side where the mill is. It is a stone church up on a hill across from the dam. It was like Little House on tge Prairie. Tgere were our row house,a set of 2 on a stone wall,lower brick row houses,and upper brick row houses. It was a wonderful place to live.

There was a row of attached houses just above that long low wall with the steps remaining as well as another row of homes on the flat area below them with a small road or alley in between. The Mill buildings were across the river where the current industrial yards are now and have been mostly destroyed. St. Stanislaus was up on the hill along the road you walked in on, just ruins now. I used to explore there in the early 70s before Agnes when people still lived there and again shortly after the flood when the ruins were all still fresh. If you go back again, see if you can walk under the waterfall (dam). It used to be accessible back in the day, and was a shortcut to get to the other side of the river.

I think the other storms since Agnes have washed away more of the town.

A Baltimore County native, about 30 years ago I played with the Daniels Band, a community band still going from Daniels MD.

I wish everyone knew what things were. That wall with steps was where 2 houses were. There were more than one group of homes on a wall . Thats not tge Catholic church. It is way up in the woods with a grave yard. It is stone and more ruins are there. Before tge flood,the mill owner demolished the homes and the flood took away what was left
