For those who like learning about Japanese history and were asking in the stream about the triforce emblem, it is the mon of the Hojo clan. From wiki: The Hōjō clan (北条氏, Hōjō shi) in the history of Japan was a family who controlled the hereditary title of shikken (regent) of the Kamakura shogunate between 1203 and 1333. ... The Hōjō are known for fostering Zen Buddhism and for leading the successful opposition to the Mongol invasions of Japan. Thanks @tokyolens for the gorgeous and peaceful "stroll". So happy the weather was clear [my prayer answered] and regretting that didn't get out there after dinner at New Year's 2019/2020. It's definitely on the list for my next trip. At this point, when things open up, I'll be visiting for a year plus 😂.

I spent 2 crazy nights on Enoshima and of course the empty mornings, too. First one in summer: On a weekend between work I wanted to explore Kamakura because weather was going to be good. I had (or wanted) to take my road bike (thanks Utada Hikaru for that) in the afternoon/evening from a satellite town in the northwest of Tokyo. So I reached Shonan in the evening and first I wanted to see Enoshima, because I arrived there first. It was getting dark really soon. I had to sleep somewhere. Well, broken af as I was that time, I decided to sleep at a cool spot without people disturbing me at night or in the morning. Well, there is this famous rocky coastline at the backside of the island and while sitting there enjoying the sunset and nightview I decided to just stay there as more and more visitors went home the long way across the island back to their homes and hotels. It was a really warm day and also warm night, so I decided to just sleep on the rocks there on an elevated spot with my bag as a pillow and a jacket for some comfort. Late at night only two or three night anglers tried their luck in the distance but did not notice me. So I sleept there and woke up in the early morning sunlight. I woka up on the rock of Enoshima, fantastic view of Fuji-san and the sea. That was just awesome! In the distance one angler was still there or back again, but I had some more visitors: Those tiny little crabs or what those things are. Thousands of them were on the rocks to see if you looked close enought, but they are fast af not wanting to be catched. Well, maybe some of them climbed me during my sleep. ^^ I wil never forget this under the sky overnighter on Enoshima and I will do this again for sure when I have the chance to visit Nihon again. =) Second night was not that exiting. Was some days before Christmas and I just came back of my around 100 days cycling tour from Tokyo through the Alps to Kyoto/Himeji and back. I arrived from Hakone that day and had to sleep somewhere. Still broken af. xP Beach was to sandy and in the morning you could be seen from everywhere, also the not so warm wind from the ocean … Well, I already knew Enoshima and that I slept there and in the early morning there are not many people on the island, especially not in late autumn. So I drove up the Enoshima plateau with my Utada road bike and heavy backpack and slept on a bench in my sleeping bag somewhere at the cliff with an ocean view. ^^ Still pretty windy, but I got some sleep. Next early morning empty plateau and I could quickly pack my things, get some freshness at the toilet house and after some breakfast I went on the road again heading to Kamakura. I will never forget that island. Nice memories. =)

Norm this is amazing! I’m watching you for a while now of course but these streams are the best, when you go around and show us the less known areas. I’m watching your other channel too. :) I hope once Japan opens we can arrange a meet up for the channel and go on a super hike :))) Squirrels: YES! When I lived in a small house and I sat outside in the garden, I always caught them running around and throwing pine cones at my car. As a game :) little boogers

Edit: Loved the 430 am island 'sunset' 😛, your shadow play (i always get shadow selfies when i want to include myself in a picture), the not so clear fujisan views (even just knowing she's there is enough). Should i just say i love everything ❤😂

I missed the stream. The place is really pretty and it looks peaceful cause there aren't a lot of people but it also feels strange watching it for the same reason. It's nice to see what the place looks like when there aren't much people cause it's easier to appreciate the surroundings but feels weird especially in the places where it should have people in. lol that one rocky area really gets skipped in the stream. I subbed to the new channel! I hope I get to catch a livestream again next time.

Ah, Enoshima, thank you, now i actually know what this place is called, always just called it the Island near Kamakura 😍Went here myself in 2016 after my friend and I were looking on google maps for interesting spots near Kōtoku-in. Best spot by far for me was the top of the tower and the gorgeous view of the shoreline, would absolutely recommend anyone to go up there. Had to do it by myself cause my friend hates heights but it was worth it. Even the way from Kamakura was in a small train along the shore giving an amazing view of the sea. One day i will go back there and explore more of the island, it will be worth the wait.

Another amazing stream. Good time to go to Enoshima is also before sunset, but go way before so you can find good spot with not too many people, it gets crowded with couples. And afterwards just stroll through the night island. If you catch the illuminations then it's even better. Just beware of Racoons as there is quite a few of them living there. They look cute but I wouldn't go too close to them. :D I love Enoshima. You can always get amazing shots there every time you go.

at 56 minutes you were talking about how rebellious Japanese people can be. I do like the idea of ashtrays next to no smoking signs. I mean if you are going to violate the rule at least let them have place to put them out rather than throwing the butts on ground. As someone who had to pick up cig butts in no smoking areas before it would make that person life bit easier I would bet.
