Cool vid WW. It is close to where I live and haven't been there in quite a while. I have found small garnets in some of the small creeks there. Check out the garnets one day. Thanks Much! DaveyJO

Looks like that concrete block wall at 12:26 was an attempt to seal off the mine.

Just discovered your channel... It's always interesting to see abandoned mines in other parts of the country and how they are to explore. We mostly explore mines in California and Nevada and each area has its own challenges and complications.

I've been watching your videos for a number of months already, we just don't have the mines here in the East like you guys have out west.
@TVRExploring
@TVRExploring 7 жыл бұрын
Most of our mine exploring is is northern California, which is rewarding in the sense that there are a lot of mines. Ha, however, I think the guys out in Nevada are really spoiled! The dry desert conditions preserve the mines out there superbly and it is rare for them to encounter a flooded mine... It's also easier to see everything in the desert. Out in the forest we sometimes have to be practically standing on top of a mine to find it. We get over to Nevada when we can, but it is a long drive. Thanks for watching my videos!

I've been there nearly a half century ago. You can see ore there in the color of the rock. That's not far at all from where my step family lived. As I recall, there was a lime kiln built into the bank somewhere along the road nearby, and that might explain your chunks of limestone.

There use to be a camp ground there and they had country music singers on weekends. George Jones was there along with Box Car Willie and many others. They had tours in the silver mine back then. It was lighted and pretty cool.

Walk past the lake and go up the trail to the right. In a short distance there will be a small trail going down to the left. There is another walled off mine entrance there.

I believe those spikes are roof bolts meant to hold the roof in the mines. At least that's what we used in the coal mining industry.

Don't you just hate it when you come across a locked gate like you show at 8:00? Looked like an interesting place. Too bad access was restricted. Nice video!
@thewanderingwoodsman7227

I was disappointed, but I can understand as well, there is a park right next to this spot and the gate keeps all the kids out. I have mixed feelings about gated off mines and caves - on one hand it keeps out stupid people that will get hurt or just vandalize the place, but on the other hand it keeps out responsible people who just want to safely explore and document these places.

Couldn’t someone let you inside for a one -off video of the mine. Someone has a key to that lock. At this point you are the only one recording the history of these forgotten places. I bet you could garner some interest from both private and government owners.
