Those stone walls were impressive in that they looked like they were hewn and laid without mortar. Imagine that little village when land was cleared and many acres of open land for gardens and pasture for their animals. A simple life and a bygone era that leaves one longing for a less hectic lifestyle.

Thanks WW! This is a video I missed and what a nice one at that. Like you I do appreciate all that beautiful stone work and all the very hard work it took to build. Never did like that orange water though. I also have done lots of metal detecting but not for a while. So many places are now off limits because some greedy disrespectful people don't cover the holes they dug. I always take a piece of cloth when detecting and put the dug earth on the cloth. So easy to pour it back into the hole and tramp it down easily. I also have a plugger I made from a section of 3" exhaust pipe with a plunger and set of handles. I can pin point the target and twist and push the plugger, extract the plug and check it for the target. Then simply drop the plug back in. It's great for grassy areas as it won't hurt the grass. Of course it looks like that are is rocky and plugger don't do well. But for a yard it's great. Often you can't even see the spot. Some parks allow metal detecting but still I will check with a ranger or call the park service to be sure. Parks are for everyone to enjoy and everyone should be respected as well as that bit of Mother Earth you are disrupting. Thanks again! DaveyJO

Beautiful location....love the ruins...the history..and seeing little bits of the things that were found. Nature always helps to heal me too!!!

We were just there yesterday! I picked a random trailhead with my husband I figured you’d have found this place already and sure enough, you had. We didn’t have time to explore as much but those falls are amazing. He’s gonna lose it when we find even more ruins. Thanks for showing what a cool trail this is

I was at Goldmine yesterday and found a pretty decent sized cave north of the railroad. Didn't have the cajones to go in alone

It is amazing to think that actual trains went through here. It makes you think about what might happen if a currently populated area were to be abandoned.

you should film a little of st peters village or the iron heritage or hopewell furnace and the colliers homes found all over the woods in the corner of shed rd and rt 345.

you should do a video of the 3 airshafts for the tower city mines if you go up keffers mountain leaving tower city you will pass a water pipe if you go up top of that there is a path up to it will be a airshaft and there is a cool building up the hill from it and if you follow that path out you will find 2 more exactly like that and I love your videos
