What a nice old lady at the start. So interesting to hear about old towns like this from the locals. So much history is lost to the Balkan war, carried on only through local folk lore, and the people who lived in former Yugoslavia before the conflicts it seems.

Yeah, she was really nice. And history in the balkans in general is complicated to say the least. Thanks for watching!

This abandoned village reminds me of a 2009 History channel documentary, "LIFE AFTER PEOPLE" that explored what earth might be like if the human race were suddenly to disappear. In that show, they actually also toured abandoned towns to show how nature always prevails and over time reclaims itself when humans aren't present to maintain it. I believe you watched some of the episodes Devin? Also check it out on You tube if you haven't already? This town could have been in one of the episodes. Great work son.

It's inland Croatia, isn't it? Remember traveling to Dalmatia few years before the Zadar highway was build. To get to Split we had to drive thru wild mountainous areas, passing thru numerous abandoned or half abandoned villages along the way. The sense of remoteness was unique.
