Exploring an Underground Cold War era Nuclear Fallout Bunker

I got a tip off that there was a little known underground nuclear fallout bunker within a couple days drive.
It took me around 6 months to track down the now owners of the property, and get permission to enter.
It was interesting trying to work out the thoughts of the person who designed and built it. How did it all work, and would it have worked if it had ever need to be used.
I took my cameras and some lights down to take a look.

Forrestonia Pub, used to go out to the mine when it was in maintenance mode back in 85 and 86. We had a 2 channel NEC radio link for the caretakers phone from Holt Rock Exchange. Never saw the pub but the caretaker was quickly consuming enough VB to wreck his liver by the looks of the crushed cans outside his donger. We used to head out from Lake Grace through to either Lake King or Varley, through the fence and then north to the mine. Great video of the scrub!

Yes it would be interesting to see if it would have worked. Some people have lots of money as it would not have been a cheap exercise. Thanks for sharing.

Your grandfather must have a substantial farming operation, that is some serious machinery! That fallout shelter was pretty cool. Anything in the US like that would've been ransacked, graffiti everywhere, or torn down, etc..no fun for us!..haha no way would any of those containers of grains, etc been left. The house almost looks to still be livable!..

The house is still liveable.. No one knows about the shelter, its also remote and on private property, this help protect it. My Grandfathers farm (he is long gone) was the first one the family developed, since then a few more blocks were developed. We still have a family farm in the same area, all the relatives also have farms in the area.. The farms are broad acre, so the machinery is always large.

The bastard scientists never show the animals they tied up at varying distances to see what happened to them, the pictures I have seen are horrific. Anyway, mate another very interesting & well presented video, really enjoyed this one. Safe Travels Mate Steve,

@@eurekaelement833 They tied up mostly Sheep, Pigs & Cattle, some were put in corrals & particularly it was the Sheep & Pigs that were tied to posts by a rope, they just walked around oblivious to what was about to happen to them. Anyway just look what they still do to mice & rabbits for f#@k sake mate,
