I remember playing Top Roblox Runway Model, and I can say that the game being a tantalizing target for exploiters towards the end of its lifespan was what really hit the final nail in the coffin. It seemed like people were dead set on killing that game by making every server unplayable, and to an extent they succeeded.

I like how simple the older games were. Base Wars is a good example of a game that never really failed. Been around for a long time and people still play it, but I feel like it lost its old player base after an overhaul back in 2017 or 2018.

Parkour Tag was literally everything to me. What hurts even more is that I was there LIVE watching it's downfall. What hurt the games player base was the lack of new content. Dibs was a very slow updater to the game, on top of this his lack of transparency with the community.

An amazing example of the “find the things genre” would be Find Everything, by Polyhex. The game features it’s own platformer mechanics, references and even a gym to unlock new mobility features.

5:02 Fun fact, I actually play this hide and seek game a LOT, and about 95% of the time, there's at least 4 people in the server. In fact, one time I was playing, there were 3 servers active, which is a lot for this dead game since the servers can hold about 15 - 20 people each.

4:20 I've been missing Brick Bronze A LOT recently. The game meant so much to me and it managed to be so original while not just being another Pokemon spinoff. Some more knowledge from an OG: - "Lando Caverns", as well as a ton of other cavern-themed exploration games derive their inspiration from the 2008 game "Doom Caverns" by Maelstronomer. - "Badge walk" games were viewed in negative light by most people of the era. - The meshes used in Deception Infection are puzzling. They are Halo weapon models that were uploaded way back in the day back when custom meshes required you to load up assets in Studio to work, but somehow they have transcended time & space and managed to appear in modern Roblox. I always wondered if they were always hidden in the game along with the old gravity hammer mesh from back in the day. - "A Pirate's Life" was heavily inspired by Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean Online", and shares a lot of elements between the games.

One game I remember being on the home page during 2017 was Vampire Hunter 1 and 2 by ZacAttack. Both games had the sane main premise, but overall stayed unique. It was like murder mystery with a twist and extra modes. Shame it's so dead now. I played those games so much

I actually remember hearing of the games “A Pirate’s Life” and “Lando’s Haunted Mansion” from these old roblox bloopers videos from mid-January 2010 that had music from Super Mario RPG.

Sick video! This definitely brings me back - I joined Roblox in 2007 and many of these games were games I enjoyed a lot back in the day. I'm the creator of After The Flash and Club Boates. Lando graciously decided to make me the first gym boss of Brick Bronze back in 2014 or 2015. I also worked with stickmasterluke on Deception Infection 2, making maps for the game. It never fully came to fruition but it was tons of fun playing it.

“Multi Minigames” is also another example of dead Roblox games that were really popular. I remember playing the game a lot as a kid and owning all the items, it’s a shame that the game barely or does not have players at all anymore. :(

While not completely dead (Yet), I'm always sad to see how few players Base Wars has every time I check it. I spent so many hours playing that game, I ended up getting thousands of kills (and even more deaths lol), mastering all the vehicles, and creating insanely OP loadouts. I thought it was so neat how the game ran 24/7, as there were no rounds/levels, it made it feel like some infinitely-lasting war.

One game that I remember fondly is 'Haunted Hotel Roleplay' by Kitteh6660, it had a hotel tower along with a few other surrounding locations to explore. The game wasn't just a roleplay map but also had missions you could do with respective badges as well. At some point years later, it was updated with the map being completely remade and all of the missions and secrets removed so it was just an empty map and an empty server since at this point the player base has since died, and as of now the game is privated and abandoned. I don't know how many people remember this game since I don't interact with the roblox community, but I felt like mentioning it here.

I am SO glad you went over "A Pirates life", its one of the first games i ever really played on roblox and holds a chunk of my childhood, which no other roblox game holds, i realized the game was basically dying when an exploiter came in, made EVERYTHING neon/tron-like, make everything blindingly bright, raised the water level up high so that you always spawned in it and died, then left the server, thats literally all they did, and players all refused to all leave the server, so it never reseted Ive come back to the game now and then cause i just genuinely miss it, that and like 60% of the thing sin the game i remember are now broken as well

I remember playing this one game called "The Mad Murderer" by loleris. It was and still is one of my favorite childhood roblox games. I can't remember how popular it was but I remember the servers being filled, and an active player base. I think it died out due to exploiters. I remember so many instances where there were exploiters in that game. As far as I know, the game has been privated but it took about a year or more.

Dude I remember PixelFlame's Neighborhood so much. That game was awesome. I remember there were a bunch of secrets around the map, including a ruined version of the neighborhood or something. I think PixelFlame was updating it at one point in 2021 but I don't think many updates have happened since then

I remember this one game I’d play on Roblox. It was a PvE game where’d you come in and wait for a timer to go down. After so, a pillar would fall down and the snake statue in inside would come to life and start attacking. While you’re fighting you’ll gain points and are able to buy better gear. After you defeat the snake it’ll go into phase 2 and turn red and grow wings. Upon its defeat the snake will turn back into stone and you’ll prepare for the next time it awakens.

Does anyone remember the infamous Boys and Girls Hangout from like, 2015. God that was a time. Glitching balloons and character customization. That secret band stage area. The massive influx of rp and actual DATING happening too it was so crazy yet i miss it ❤ used to silently dance with other users to our roblox boombox hit song ‘animals’ by maroon 5

I remember playing Top ROBLOX Runway Model (previously named ROBLOX's Top Model) in 2017, which was a Top Model-like game where you had to dress up for a random in-game topic, e.g. Rainbow, Nerdy etc. Now that the game's creator, DizzyPurple has become inactive, no one seems to play it anymore... :.(

I actually have a old game I used to play that border's death now! Who here recalls Nerf FPS(or Foam FPS, as it's called now.)? I remember playing a lot of these games back in the day. Some that aren’t mentioned in this video that holds nostalgia for me are: this one game where you can create huge mechs and battle each other, a Christmas game that was only playable every Christmas where you’re an elf and you can construct toys, a pirate game where you were able to collect and trade goods, a Star Wars game where you are battling droids as a clone trooper and must get to the end to capture a flag I believe, and my first roblox game I played in 2013 was a game where you would go down an elevator into a facility and find these free model monsters like slenderman and such, this game was copy pasted a lot lol. I also did play a lot of group role playing games such as the old assassin ones, galactic republic ones, Roman ones, scp, vaktovia or whatever that serious group was called, etc. a lot of those group role playing games you could earn a rank in and it was pretty serious at times, there would be wars against other groups lol, but now it’s just buying ranks and stuff as game passes, definitely not the same as before.

As a 2017 player… I’m glad that Parkour Tag was in this video it was my most favorite game back then. 😢

I also remember the adventure rpgs like Boss Fighting Stages and Nomrial Legends. Great video overall and it was nice seeing old games I use to play❤❤

One of my strongest memories involving Roblox and name that character games was calling my dad while he was at work to ask him the name of Bart because I couldn't remember his name. Still makes me laugh to this day. Another dead lando64000 game I'm surprised you didn't mention is Snake Pillar, it only amassed one million visits compared to the 22 mil of Hide and Seek and 7.8 mil of Pirate's Life but I still remember it being pretty popular.

tbh, I started playing this game since around 2012 as guest, and then created account in 2015, it was fun and it was like there are no toxic people, and now in 2023 it is getting worse as discord players, those games are dying, guest got deleted, and Roblox getting burrito moment, but still it was fun while it last, I still remember the old Murderer Mystery game before number 2 came up, thank you for making this video, it reminds me of great time.

Speaking of Poke-clones, there used to be a bunch of roleplay/PvP Pokemon games where you would play _as_ the Pokemon. Pokemon Arena X (or PAX) comes to mind, I think that was the most popular, though there were many others competing for fame at the same time. PAX was special because it had VIP tiers, and also ran events throughout the year (like for holidays), keeping players coming back. It received constant updates, both to the map and the roster, having a majority of Gen 1-4 and some Gen 5 Pokemon before being (presumably) copyright stricken. This was way before Brick Bronze, but interestingly there were some experimental predecessors to Bronze that used a top-down, 2.5D style, similar to the Gameboy/DS games. And even before PAX, there were more rudimentary "morph" fighting games, which usually involved lobbies where you'd walk up to the character you wanted to morph into, then be dropped into a map to duel it out. There were Pokemon games, but also a ton of anime fighting games. Most, if not all of these are broken now, due to your "moves" usually being custom tools, all of which have since broken (most morphs don't even work at this point). But, while it lasted, they were really fun. These games sort of evolved into the anime fighting games of today, like Bizarre Day, or whatever current One Piece simulator is trending right now. And _even farther_ before games like that, I remember "morph"-style games about animals, where you could play as herbivores, carnivores, or even alien creatures, and build a nest. You'd use similar tools to fight and forage for survival. I wish I could remember the name of any of them, but it's been too long... I'd say games like these inspired all those dragon/creature/dinosaur roleplay games you see now. oh, and an honorable mention for cool old game goes to Survival 303 as well.

One game I'd like to mention would be The Plaza, while it wasn't the biggest game for it’s time around 2016-2019 it was on the homepage frequently and had a lot of potential with a 2nd game in development only to never be complete

Played back in 2008 and quit sometime around 2016 because I grew out of it. Clicked the video because I saw downhill smash in the thumbnail. Also made me really nostalgic when you brought up jj5x5 and especially Lando. His Hide and Seek game was consistently the first one on the front page for several years because of it's popularity. I could give you a small list of games and creators from the 2008-2010 period such as xLEGOx if you ever feel like doing a sequel to this video.

I used to play some red vs blue game back in like 2016 which was so popular and I constantly played it with my sister and etc. But now it is a complete wasteland and when I try to find the game it mostly doesn't even show up anymore only about 2 times have I spotted it ever since..
