The Manatee stop was really cool. Those adorable sea cows tug at my heart. Gentle giants. They must love the water temp from the power plant. I also love the format of this video. Good eats, cool places to visit, then exploring.👍🏼

Cool,I've requested Gibsonton for awhile.Thankyou! One thing about visiting the Manatee Station is that it's free! I'm just wondering if Gibsonton is going upscale with all this development,kind of like a tale of two cities.Reminds me of Thonotosassa closer to where I live at in Zephyrhills.

I really loved this video Jose and Katie, it really does give off that vibe of old/new mixed as the "new Florida" has taken over this old Carni town. Once upon a time it had thousands of Carnival and Circus people flocking there in the winter time. This town is famous for that, and yet as you said it's hard to find any evidence of it's history. It is sad, because that area was very unique for that reason and it's sad to lose that part of Florida's rich history. Great job showing the place off thank you both *hugs*

Thank you Jose and Katie for doing a Gibsonton video! I felt bad for you at 7:52, you looked beat after the Manatee Visitor Center, yet you kept filming all day even going into the woods some. As always, appreciate the restaurants you stop at, showing what you ordered. There are some beautiful, secure (gated with watchdogs) waterfront properties on the Alafia River and Bull Frog Creek. That is for those that were smart enough to invest in back in the day (like my landlord did- I've lived on one for over 20 years!) I'd be scared to live in the subdivisions, there are constant car break ins, etc. Praying for you to keep healing, and Katie keep up the exercising, and eating better, proud of you!

Excellent review of Gibsonton FL. Unfortunately the historic value is depressed and taken over by the impoverished. Good to hear there are some new developments. However, do you think this could lead to future gentrification. ?

hard call, its like both things are in the same place. if i had money for a new house it would NOT be on top on trailer park crap

Funny how I came across this video at random. I actually live there and work about 200 yds down that road. Anyways, the video quality is A-1. What kind of camera are you using?

There’s also warehouses and industrial facilities that keep this area busy. If you go to Ohio st and US 41 you could see a gated mansion on the Bay across the street from trailer parks and a gas station. Typical Florida contrast.

That was Apollo Beach were the manatees were at. Teco energy company
@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS5 ай бұрын
At no point were any of the manatees in Apollo Beach City limits.. At least not unless you got an extreme high tide 😊 look at a map of Both city limits closely! The viewing center is right on the city limit line. But the manatees are a few feet north of there.

Teco is in Gibsonton and the viewing center in Apollo Beach. Dickman drive is the city limits line

Back in early 2000s, my Buddy Jose told me Jax had a good sandwich shop on Beach Blvd. I never did try it but I wish I did. I'm Mexican so i tended to hunt those shops out.

According to Google, "Beef itself is not illegal in Cuba but despite this, it’s almost impossible to find and purchase beef. This is because while beef is not illegal, killing a cow can be. "
@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS5 ай бұрын
Bro, i lived in Cuba. You get caught with beef it’s mandatory 10 years. They don’t have courts and lawyers like you do here.. you get caught with a steak your going away for a VERY LONG time. If you buy “beef” from the government its dog or car or something else.. the workers keep it for themselves and give you who the crap knows what. Maybe 5% of it will be beef if you are lucky. Your not gonna come here and tell me about cuba with some google search explanation bro i have eaten beef in cuba more than a few times 😅😅😅 you better not even get caught with onions and oil that looks like it had beef in it! This ain’t no google search result.. i have eaten steak in cuba,

I lived in cuba 6 years of my life. My parents turned off the lights for dinner. 😊 you don’t even tell your kids what they are eating. You don’t even have to get caught with it.. just a rumor that you had it in the wrong ears you get out away cuba doesn’t have due process

The Manatee Viewing Center is actual in Apollo Beach Florida. A few miles south of Gibsonton Florida. You are calling this a lost Circus Town but Gibsonton is actually a Carnival Town which is a big difference.

He DID go on some of the small back streets, often there is only enough room for one vehicle to pass at a time. I know, I live there.
