Greetings from 🇨🇭. James and I definitely had a great time in Austria too. We went there for our honeymoon several years ago, visiting the same places as you. We stayed 2 nights in Hallstatt, and loved the salt mine too (isn't the train out of the mine wild!) Keep on enjoying life, Steve and James

Hi, Austrian resident here: Don't visit Hallstatt. Its overcrowding is awful, and all the residents are fed up with Instagramming tourists. It's really like going to Venice or to see the Mona Lisa - something everybody does. Do you want to be like a tourist sheep? There are a lot of really cute and relaxed spots you can visit in Salzburg and Upper Austria (like Zell am See, Gmunden, or Sankt Wolfgang - all situated on amazing lakes).

I didn’t see large crowds of tourists in the video. One resident of Hallstadt said that tourists are good, and that thanks to tourists they earn money.

@@tryexceptions1025 Because a videographer can't take his time in order to chatch a break in the crowds, ooof course! Silly me... And one resident is just soooo representative of all of them, sure... You can choose to be thoughtless disrespectful tourist or you can be a responsible traveller. It seems obvious what you would do.

The people of Hallstatt would be glad if you'd remove this clip. It is a pretty place, but not with 13.000 tourists a day in a village with only 700 people. All have agreed to stop this invasion. There are demonstrations blocking the tunnel. Amongst the messages on the signs: "Think of our children", "This is our HOME" and "We are fed up".
