10 Days Quarantine: Complete!
Now to take a wander and a tour of my hometown, Newport. I explain a bit about the history, my personal experiences and memories, and of course, I fly the drone. That's why it is being released late!
Newport is very different to what I'm used to in Davao, Philippines. It's much colder for one, as well as having 1/10th of the population.
I visit the riverside, Gaer fort, St Woolos Cemetery, and the city centre.

ABOUT MY DRONE:
I have a DJI Mini 2. It has a current operator's licence, and I have a flyer's licence, though my drone is exempted from the latter. It is 249g, C0 class, so I am allowed to fly above residential areas. I took reasonable efforts to avoid violating anyone's privacy, and my shots do not show much more than, for example, Google Earth would show. I took particular care when back gardens were in view. All filming is done in accordance with existing privacy laws.

Only compulsory to wear masks inside stores and establishments here, by the way. No requirement outside. In case you were wondering! (and there are no people around anyway, as you can see. If it was crowded it would be a different story)

no wonder ppl in london are escaping to wales. u have more reasonable response to covid. it's common sense to mandate mask indoors where research shows the virus can spread in an enclose area more than outdoors. if u r walking alone outside, u dont need a mask.

Anselm, this vlog is superbly done. Easy to follow and for people like me that has never been to Wales, your video gives a realistic overview of Newport. I was travelling into South Wales for much of last summer and autumn, so I got to really appreciate what a beautiful part of the world it really is (but not so much in the winter). Of course where I really want to be is back with my friends in the Philippines. Hopefully this summer. Look after yourself and please keep posting the videos.

Thanks for this video. For some of us Newport is as exotic as Davao. Even seeing the post box seemed interesting. If you get short of material perhaps a detailed look at that cemetery would be in order. I wonder what the dates and inscriptions are.

Good job. I enjoyed watching this and learning a bit about your local area. I have only been to Wales once and I was delivering a car so it was kind of in and out but I did get to see some nice scenery on the way. They still had the Toll on the Severn bridge then.
